Blake
"Good morning Lucy" I greeted the receptionist."Oh, good morning Blake"
She answered smiling."Is Ally Bennett in her office?" I asked and her face switched to a worried one. I was expecting to see her at the firm since I couldn't get to find her during the weekend.
"No, she hasn't arrived yet." She said nervously and I felt a weird sensation in the pit of my stomach.
"Has she called?" I asked Lucy hoping that the answer was positive.
"I'm afraid she hasn't Blake"
Lucy said but started looking some files and I knew she was worried about my reaction given the fact that I always fire my assistants when they skip work but this time I wasn't angry but worried and was really looking forward to see her that day."I'll be in my office, please let me know whenever she calls, please" I told Lucy in a low worried tone which seemed to surprise her.
"Yes, I'll let you know as soon as she arrives or calls."
I walked to my office and closed the door. I ran my hand through my hair several times and looked at the phone expecting it to go off.
Shit! Where are you Ally?
I stood next to the window and thought about what happened on Friday night.
...just after we had dinner and had a nice talk I told Ally she could stay in my room while I would take the couch in the living room. I was trying to sleep but I couldn't. Having a girl in my apartment and in my bed was something that had never happened before. I never bring anybody to my apartment except for my family. A couple of hours latter I heard some screaming in my room, I stood up and knocked the door but she didn't answer. I knocked again but the screaming continued. I went into the room and saw Ally crying an screaming but she was asleep so I tried to wake her up. She was sweating and shaking, her face was wet in tears. I shook her arms several times until she woke up. When she opened her eyes she was so scared. She looked at me and jumped into my arms hugging me tightly. I hugged her too and rubbed her back trying to calm her down but she couldn't stop shaking.
"Hey it's ok it was just a nightmare. You had a bad night that's all" I said softly but she shook her head.
"No it was not just a nightmare" she said with a shaky voice.
"Shh" I said and continued rubbing her back drawing circles on it. "Try to sleep again."
"No, it will happen again" she said and I realized I just wanted to make her feel better and the fact of having her in my arms made me feel like I wanted to protect her.
"Why?" I asked softly.
"Bec.. because..." Ally hesitated."You can tell me, it's ok you can trust me." I said and she moved her face to look at me and even it was through the dim lights of my room I could see her beautiful eyes so close this time that my heart started hammering in my chest.
"I... have had this bad dream sometimes since my mother died in a plane accident" She said but looked down. "I killed her" she whispered.
"Ally don't say that, you said she died in a plane accident" I told her not understanding.
"Yes I did and I will never forgive myself for that" she said and stood up walking to the window and opening it. She crossed her arms hugging her body and poked her head through it breathing the cold air.
"Ally... I don't understand"
I said honestly and stood next to her. She looked me with deep hurt in her eyes."I was just a stupid thirteenth years old girl who had a huge argument with her mom because I wanted to go to my first prom and didn't want to go to L.A. with her to be in the most important moment in her life" Ally told me and then slid down the floor laying her back on the wall below the opened window. It was as if her legs couldn't hold her weight. She hugged her legs and sighed. I followed her moves and sat next to her and held her hand as she continued talking.
"She took a flight two days earlier. We would travel with her but she let me stay to go to my stupid thanksgiving prom so my dad stayed with me while she traveled to prepare her first painting exhibit."
She sighed and squeezed my hand. Her eyes were closed, her lips were shaking and some tears were running down her cheeks.
"Hey it's ok you don't have to tell me." I said while drawing little circles around the back of her hand but she continued.
"Her plane crashed in the mountains in Colorado" she sobbed and I passed my arms around her shoulders. "I killed her, I killed my mom" She said almost a whisper and started crying silently.
"Ohh Ally..." I hugged her tightly. It really broke my heart seeing her hurting like that. " Please don't think that way, it was fate. Some things happen and we don't understand why but I'm sure everything, even the worst things happen for a reason" I tried to comfort her while I moved and sat on my knees facing her. I held her face with one hand and cleaned her tears with my thumb.
"Ally you have to forgive yourself, it wasn't your fault""I... I don't..." she tried to say something but she couldn't. She was looking at me and something made me go closer to her.
"I don't like to see you crying." I held her face between my hands and got closer until our lips were almost touching. "You are an amazing girl" I whispered and then touched his lips with mine slowly and softly and kissed her. I felt my heart explode in my chest and all my body felt as if a lightning had gone through it. I pulled a part and she opened her eyes but didn't say anything.
"Ally... I'd like to make the pain to go away" I said and she grabbed my face between her hands and pulled me forward, she just looked at me with her beautiful but hurtful eyes and all I wanted was to make her pain to disappear so I kissed her one more time...
My thoughts were interrupted by Lucy who knocked the door.
"Blake... " she said and I cut her off
"Is she here, has she called? I said a little too eager."No, she hasn't" she said surprised.
"Call Bradley and tell him to wait me at the front of the building in 5 minutes" I told Lucy.
"But Blake, Ms Hamilton is waiting for you in the conference room. Michael Quinn is here with his attorneys." She explained
Dammit!
"Ok, tell her I had an emergency and that she has to take care of them. Tell her to call one of the associates. Harold or Aiden will help her. I have to go Lucy. Call Bradley while I go down." I said while I stormed off the office.
