Right When You Think Life Is Good

Chapter 17: He's Back

We decided that we would put our plan to action after I got to see Jack because I just can't wait. We also found out that Jake is suppose to be visiting for a while and will get here today, before Jack.

Right now I'm sitting with Grace, Jocelyn, Jerry, and Milton. We are at Jack and Jocelyn's house watching a movie and waiting for Rudy to arrive. We wanted to have the whole group together for when Jack got back.

At some point during the movie we heard the door bell ring. Jocelyn went downstairs to answer it and returned with Jake behind her. I got up and ran to him, giving him a thought hug. I love Jake like a brother so I get excited when he shows up.

"Hey Jake!" We all shouted.

"What's sup guys." He didn't get any responses other then a couple head nods.

"Where are your brothers Kim?" He asked after a moment of silence.

"Kenton and Kody are at my house. Kendall and Keith are both taking classes at OSU (Ohio State University) and Keiten is either at work or his new house. He recently moved a couple blocks down from here."

"Why aren't Kenton and Kody here?" Jake asked.

"I'm not sure, your welcome to go over there and get them." I replied.

"I might."

We continued watching the movie until Rudy showed up. Kenton and Kody showed up shortly after Rudy.

"Hey guys, the Grace, Jocelyn and I have a prank planned and I think it might be a little easier to pull off with some help." I announced.

"What do you guys plan on doing?" Jake asked.

"We want to temporarily dye his hair pink." Jocelyn stated.

"How do you plan on doing that?" Rudy asked.

"We're gonna put pink hair dye in his shampoo." Grace said.

"Why don't you just put the dye in his shampoo while he's not here?" Jerry asked.

"We all know that he took his shampoo with him." I responded.

"Oh yeah."

"So anyway we were gonna have Jocelyn distract Jack while I snuck into his room but now that you guys are here I think we should take a different approach." I stated.

"So what do you want us to do?" Jake never has a problem prancing anyone especially when it comes to Jack.

"I think that I should distract him while you guys out the dye in the shampoo and set up a camera by his mirrors so that we can catch his reaction." I replied.

"I'm in." Jack said.

"Me too." Jerry added.

"As long as you don't tell him I was involved I'll help." Came Rudy's response.

"Don't worry, if he gets mad I'll take the blame." I spoke.

"You'll take the blame for what?" I heard a new voice ask. I turned around to find find Jack standing in the doorway.

"JACK!!!" I shouted as I ran toward him. When I was a safe distance to him I jumped, latching my legs around his waist, my arms around his neck.

"Hey Kimmy." He said with a chuckle. "You miss me?" He asked sarcastically.

"How was New York?" I asked, ignoring his question.

"It was fun and all but I like it better here." Jack replied.

"Why's that?" I asked.

"My life is here. That and it's really cold in New York. Anyway, you wanna go see a movie tonight?" Jack asked.

"Just us?" I asked.

"I was gonna invite the rest of the gang but I don't have to." Jack stated. I didn't want to sound selfish but I didn't want everyone else to come because this would be the perfect time to set up our prank.

"No you can invite them I was just wondering." I replied.

"You guys want to go a see a movie tonight?" Jack asked everyone.

I turned around around gave them all a look, silently telling them to say no. They all responded saying that they were buys or that they couldn't.

"So it is just us." Jack said.

"Yep." I shrugged.

"I like that better anyway." Jack whispered

"I heard that!" Jocelyn shouted.

"I didn't say anything." Jack lied.

"Yeah sure." Jake said sarcastically.

"Whatever, Kim and I are leaving now." Jack said. He led me outside and we began walking down the street.

"Can we stop at my house really quick, I want to grab a sweater." I asked.

"Yeah." He grabbed my hand and pulled me close, so close I was pretty much walking in front of him. When we got to my house I quickly ran up to my room and over to my closet, forgetting that thee were things that I didn't want anyone to see in there.

"Kim you play guitar?" Jack asked as he lightly pushed me out of the way and grabbed my guitar case.

"Ummmm." He opened the case and saw my notebook sitting on top of my guitar.

"What's this?" He asked. I quickly grabbed it out of his hand before he was able to open it.

"Nothing....." I said although it sounded more like a question.

"Come on Kim I know that your lying." I stood there, not knowing what to say. Jack laughed and then suddenly got up and stole the notebook from me in one

Swift motion.

"JACK!" I screamed as he ran to the guest room and locked the door. I banged my fist against the door shouting at him for about five minutes until he opened the door and handed me the notebook. At that point I knew he either read it or decided not to because he respected the fact that I didn't want him to read it.

"So you play guitar and you write music." Jack said. Know it became obvious that he read it.

"Why were you hiding it?" Jack asked.

"I don't know. I guess because my cousins write and now you do I just thought if my music wasn't good you guys would make fun of me." I explained.

"I love your songs, infancy I wanted to ask if I could use a few of them."

"Well that depends, what songs do you want to use?"

"Song For You" Jack replied with a smirk. "I think I should do a duet."

"With who?" I asked confused.

"You." Jack said simply.

"Umm as much as I would like to I don't think I would be able to." I replied.

"Why not?"

"I'm not good on stage." I said. "But how about I become your songwriter?" I offered.
