It felt like the weekend flew by. No one wanted to get up and go to school. Especially Leo and Mikey, whom both were dealing with heart break. Mikey in a sense that had some hope left. Leo didn't have any of that. He knew Ember and him weren't taking a break, they were probably never going to get back together. And he was fine with that-well- not really, but he was good at acting.
Most of the time.
Mikey was better though. He was like a professional, always smiling, and happy.
Man, why wasn't Leo that good.
Slipping a different pair of jeans on he threw on his blue jacket and zipped it up, pulling the hood over his head and he left with his back pack and shoes already on. It was only 5:20 but Leo wanted to get there early. He headed to the gas station to get a coffee, cause honestly he probably didn't get any more than 4 hours of sleep. It was still dark out and a bit of a foggy-ness floated in the atmosphere, the street lamps and side 24 hour stores were the only places that lighted the streets.
He shuffled inside the gas station by 5:30, pulling his hood down and taking a moment for his eyes to adjust to the brightness from the overhead lights, he stepped over to the brewing machines. Bringing his finger across the labels of the flavors of cappuccinos. Pumpkin spice was in season now.
He picked mocha.
He scanned the isles the next 5 minutes, feeling the warmth from the coffee warm up his hand. Finding the case full of donuts & brownies, he glances the rows of different kinds. He finally settled with a long john with white icing, putting it in on of those clear bags, and headed to the counter.
Throwing down 3 dollars, he got 20 cents back.
"Have a good morning."
"You too," he mumbled, and then he was off.
The bell hanging on the door rang on his way out.

He didn't make it to school until 6:30, this was when his siblings were usually getting up. He finished his coffee just as he went up the steps of the school. It was open, for detention and early morning tutoring.
He went straight to the library, throwing away his cup in the can next to the library doors.
He sat at the computer in the corner starting up on his essay for personal finance, an essay that was supposed to be about the future career he wants.
Leo had no clue who he wanted to be. He had no clue who he was now, how was he supposed to predict after college. He was thinking maybe teaching martial arts like his father, but he also found an interest in teaching period. He liked the thought of being a teacher.
So he wrote about both, being a teacher for martial arts and English. Because believe it or not Leo loved reading.
At 7:10, Leo went up to his first hour class which was British Literature. He took a seat in the back and waited.

Luke was late. Very, very late. He usually met up with Jason and Mikey at school by 7:30, it was 7:55. He wasn't only late to meet them but he was also late for his first hour class. Losing track of time that morning he had to hurry out the door. Signing in at the front desk he got a tardy slip and went to class.
He didn't know if he would be able to face Mikey that day. He wasn't in the best mood and the thought of Mikey possibly rejecting him made him want to throw up. He wanted to throw up anyways, his medication wasn't having the best effect on him today.
He hardly could stay awake in his first class and second. He doodled through both, the pages in his notebooks were soon more filled with squiggles and swirls than notes and homework.
"Mr. Johnson."
Luke looked up from his notebook where he was supposed to be writing down the notes the teacher was writing on the board.
"Yes?"
"Pay attention so you know what I'm talking about next time."
He just stared blankly until someone else is called on and answers the question the teacher must have asked when Luke wasn't giving it a thought.
The kid read off the board, which must have been the answer. Luke had no clue.

"We're going to be learning about World War 2 and the holocaust this chapter. Your test will be in two weeks," the teacher explained pacing in front of the class.
Naomi's hand shot up.
"Naomi?"
"Does that mean we're going to watch an holocaust movie?"
"Good question, yes we will be watching Schindler' List. But you'll have questions over it."
"During or after?"Naomi perked up, hand in the air but not waiting for the teacher to call on her.
"During?"
"But then we can't watch the movie," Naomi complained.
"I guarantee you, you'll be able to watch the movie," the teacher slightly rolled his eyes.
"If you say so," Naomi says slumping back in her desk.
Jaelyn giggled at her as she acted dramatically.
"Alright so partner up and work on the rest of chapter 3 review," he clapped his hands to get everyone moving.
Only like 3 people moved to different seats to work with their friends.
"So any thing going on in your guy's life?" Naomi asked as she flipped open the world history book.
"Nope."
"Nope."
"My dad's an a**," Jaelyn almost whispered copying Naomi's work and flipping it to the correct pages.
"Why?"
Jaelyn shrugs, "I don't know, he's just an a**hole."
Raph looks over at her, "Did he do something?"
"What hasn't he done," Jaelyn shook her head, "anyways number one is B."
