Evan's POV

I take a deep breath. I can do this. I can do this....no I can't do this. I take a fast turn into the boys bathroom and sigh as I watch Zoe Murphy walk past. So close.

"Are you stalking my sister?!" A voice hisses.

I jump and spin around. Towering above me was Connor Murphy. I have never really been scared of him but he was intimidating and I was trapped, I couldn't just avoid him like normal.

"I-I-er- n-no.." I stutter, shaking.

He scowls at me.

"What do you want with my sister." He growls.

I couldn't speak, all that came out of me was a small squeak.

"Probably the same thing everyone wants, your sisters hot, dude." A familiar voice says, with extreme cockiness.

Connor spins around to see who said that. It was Jared Kleinman. He's a Fr-.. family ... friend..

Connor growls at him.

"Jeez! the freak is angry, I'm so scared!" Jared says sarcastically.

It's nice of him to help but that might be too far.

"Shut it Kleinman, unless you want trouble." Connor hisses.

But I noticed something. There was a small break in his voice... it was odd. Jared sarcastically puts his hands up in surrender.

"And risk messing up this beautiful face? I don't think so." He smirks.

Connor just growls and stomps out of the bathroom. There was a small moment of silence where I just stared at the door.

"A thank you would be nice." Jared says.

"S-sorry! But... maybe calling him a freak was.. too much." I mumble.

"I am just being honest, so what were you going to do?" He smirks.

My face sets fire- well no..not really... it just got....hot.

"I-I w-was going to t-talk to her!" I stutter and Jared chuckles.

"Your so weird." He says.

I just look down at my unsigned cast. Earlier he said he wouldn't sign it because 'Family friends' is on a whole different level then 'regular friends'. I wonder how nice friendship must be if having a family friend is like this... I mean yes Jared can be a little...rude.. but he is also really helpful and though he would never admit it.....I have seen him yell at people who made fun of me.

"Thanks." I mumble.

"No problem, just stay away from him." Jared shrugs.

And just my luck, I did end up running into him again. At the end of school in the computer lab. He was nice though... he signed my cast... really big... but he still signed it! And then....he saw my letter... he yelled some things but I didn't get most of it because...I-I was so...scared. He stormed out of the room with my letter. Something in me told me to go after him... so I did... but why.. ugh.

"P-please! I need that!" I sob, tripping over my feet a little as I ran after him.

He stopped and turned to me. Looking at my red, tear soaked face. I was shaking again but all I knew was I realllly need that letter back.
