Evans POV

Connor and Jared were getting really close and I'm fine with it but I never understand what they are saying. Am I just stupid? They will never explain it to me either... and for some reason the fact that Jared and I are just "family friends" has been bothering me...a lot. I start to tap my pencil on my desk, mind racing. I look at Jared, who was sitting next to me.

"Your making it very hard to listen." Jared chuckles.

"Sorry." I say.

"What's wrong now?" He asks.

"Nothing's wrong." I say.

He gives me a look but then goes back to watching the lesson. I begin to unintentionally tap my pencil again but faster.

"Uh, Jared?" I say, quickly.

"Yes?" Jared asks.

"Never mind." I say.

He looks at me.

"Actually uh.." I shake my head, what am I doing.

I groan and slouch in my chair.

"Did you take your Medicean?" Jared asks.

I shake my head. I woke up late so... I forgot.. heh... oops.

"You can't forget this stuff Ev'!" Jared groans.

"Kleinman, Hansen! Pay attention!" The teacher says, making me jump.

Jared flashes his hand up in acknowledgment and I nod, blushing. The teacher smiled pitifully at me then she continued lecturing.... teachers tend to do that for some reason.

"What's going on Ev'?" Jared mumbles, still looking at the board.

"Like you said, friends tell each other things-" I mumble, pausing for a second when the teacher turns.

Jared nodded.

"-But we are family friends so...don't worry about it." I mumble, quieter.

Jared took a minute to figure out what I said then he went pale and sighed.

"Wait for me after class." He says.

No! Why did I say that?!... I should have controlled myself ugh.. I reluctantly nod then attempt to pay attention to the lecture.

The bell ring, too soon! Everyone stands and hustled out. I stand and grab my stuff, avoiding eye contact with Jared.

"Ev'." Jared says softly.

I slowly look up at him, biting my lip.

"Just forget what I said, it's not important!" I say, quickly.

I speed walk out the door but Jared catches up to me and puts his hand on my shoulder, spinning me to face him. I look at the ground.

"Jared, I have to get to class." I groan.

"We have time." Jared says.
