Sunlight streamed through a window and helped awaken you. You slowly opened your eyes and remembered where you were. You sat up and rubbed your temples, half expecting Dark to give you a command. You looked over and noticed he was gone.

"I can escape," you thought as you threw the covers off of you and scrambled out of bed. You creeped up to the bedroom door and pressed your ear against it. You listened intently amd heard Dark humming a tune distanced from the door. You smiled as you enacted your plan. You tiptoed to the window and unlocked it. You slowly and silently pushed it up and cursed under your breath when it squeaked. You swore you heard Dark curse, even though he was so far away. You quickly kicked out the screen and swung your leg out of the window. The door to the bedroom swung open as you struggled to get your other leg over. Pain burned from the stab wound on your leg and caused you to yelp as you swung it over the window sil. Dark growled deeply as he sprinted to you. Your feet touched the soil outside and relief washed over you. Escape. You tried to walk, but your leg failed you this time. Dark rolled his eyes as he hopped out of the window and landed onto the dirt next to you. You desperately tried to crawl away from him. He grabbed you and scooped you into his arms. You tried to thrash around, but his strong hold around you limited your movement. Your injured arm did not allow much mobility either. Dark carried you around the house and to the front door. He flicked his hand and the door opened. He shut it behind him as he carried you down the hall. He placed you in a room that looked similar to the one you were just in, but the only piece of furniture in it was the bed. He gently laid you down onto the mattress. After you had settled down, he stood back and looked at you as he shook his head.

"I don't get it. Why do you want to run away from me? I mean, sure, I injured you, but I won't do that again unless you give me good reason to. You have everything you could ever need or want here. I can provide for whatever you want. I can even heal you. Here, give me your arm." He reached for your cut arm and you hesitated at first. He gently tugged it towards him until you eventually gave in. He pressed his palm over the wound. You winced at the contact, but soon the pain subsided. He let go of your arm and you investigated it. The wound was...gone. There was no trace of the injury. You eyes widened and Dark chuckled. "I wasn't lying." He walked over to a window across from the bed. You watched as he waved his hand in front of it. You were confused at his actions. He turned around and smiled. "You won't be going anywhere. Since now I know I can't trust you," his smile faded as his voice trailed off. A pang of guilt crept up in your chest, but you had no idea why. Why did you feel sorry for hurting the very man that hurt you? As Dark turned to leave the room, you couldn't contain yourself anymore.

"D-Dark?" He stopped in his tracks but did not turn around. "I'm s-sorry." You could practically feel the relief from Dark. He seemed almost happy as he shut the door behind him, leaving you alone in the room. Drowsiness swept over you and slowly took over your body. You could practically hear Dark's voice in your ear, commanding you to sleep.

----------

The same dream, again. This time, Dark didn't appear anywhere. You relived that horrendous night, but without the interruptions of Dark. The nightmare almost felt normal, almost. There was something in the dream you couldn't pick out exactly, but it just felt wrong. As if your memory had failed you this one time and had actually altered your memory of that night. But not too much for you to notice. Subtle differences that bugged you, but you couldn't pick out. You slowly began to awake as you thoughts were filled with confusion.
----------
When you awoke, you were still in the same room. You glanced around the room until your eyes landed on a plate lying on the bedside table. You picked it up and investigated the food placed on it. It was some kind of pasta with an interesting taste. The flavors of the pasta exploded in your mouth and left you craving more. You frowned as you realized you had just eaten the last forkful. You placed it back on the table and grabbed the glass sitting next to it. You quickly chugged the water, as if you were afraid someone might take it from you.

"See, I told you I can provide," a deep voice said as Dark emerged from the darkness in the room. You nearly jumped at the sound of his voice.

"I-It was amazing," you complimented him.

Dark's face seemed to light up. "Really? I'm glad you liked it. Like I said, I can give you anything you could ever want or need. I just need you to trust me."

Trust me. His words echoed in your head as you thought. Logic screamed at you to not trust him, to try to escape. But your heart and mind pulled you to trust him. A mental battle was fought, and Dark waited patiently as you contemplated your decision. Should I give into him? Or should I think logically and not trust him because he has hurt me? But he also healed me. He said he would provide for me if I could just trust him.

"It may take a little while, but I think I can trust you." Did you seriously just say that to a demonic alter ego of your favorite YouTuber?

"I'm glad. You made the right choice. Now we can have a good relationship. But first, you need to get out of those clothes." You raised your eyebrows as you scanned Dark's eyes. He noticed your surprised and slightly defensive expression and quickly added to his statement. "I meant you need to change clothes, sorry. Your clothes are disgusting and you stink. I will provide you a new outfit you can wear after a shower. So, follow me." He placed his hand out to you, beckoning you to take it. You placed your palm in his and he gently pulled you out of bed. You yelped when your injured leg had your weight applied to it. Dark quickly turned to you to see what was the matter. He then placed his hand on your thigh. Once again, you winced at the contact, but soon the pain was relieved.

"It'll still hurt when you walk, but it's bearable. C'mon Princess, let's go." He said as he gently tugged you forward and out of the door.
