Chapter 2
As I ran into the school Chel wasn't far behind me. "Slow down Em!" I heard her but I wasn't about to stop running until I knew I was safely at my locker. When I finally reached it Chel had caught up to me and was panting for breath. "You... Did not... Just do that!" "I did," I said almost completely to myself. "You've had a crush on him for like ever! Any you called him a dumbass? You have a weird way of showing you like him, just saying." "I know Chel, my life is o-v-e-r over. He's probably telling his crew and they're going to come hunt me down and hang me on a wall!"
Ok, maybe I was over reacting, just a little bit. But still! I'm dead meat. "OMG we're going to be late," Chel yelled as she shut her locker and grabbed my hand dragging me to our first hour class.
Why do we have to have science first thing in the morning? It's torture! And it doesn't help that Mrs. Spotson is so boring.
After science we met up with Eli, my other best friend, and walked to our next class. Which is American History, which isn't that bad. We had no seating arrangements and during most of the lectures we laugh and tell jokes. On Fridays, which I today, Mr. Sadilvis lets us talk all hour. So it was me Chel and Eli all sitting there talking our heads off. "What are you guys doing after school," Eli asked. "Well I was going to write my English essay tonight, but what did you have in mind," I asked him sarcastically. "Well I heard that Stevie Jenkins was having a party tonight, and I was wondering if u guys wanted to come with me?" "YES," Chel answered before I could argue the bell rang and we were dismissed.
As the school day came to a close Chel would not stop talking about the party. "Rachel, please stop before my ear falls off." I only use her full name when I mean business and she knows it. "Sorry, I'm just excited!" "I know you," when I was rudely cut off by a hand wrapping around my waist. "Whatcha talking about Princess?" As I looked at Chel I knew who it was. I wanted to run fast and far away as possible but the arm that had me in it's grasp was too strong. "Let me go Nick!" And with that I was released and when I turned around I just saw that cute little smirk on his face. Stop it Emily! "What's wrong Princess? I was just wondering if you were going to Stevie's party tonight."
You know until now it had totally slipped my mind that Nick and Stevie were best friends. And that Nick had sat behind us today in American History. "Umm, err, a y-yes." "Can't wait to see you there Princess." With that last word he was gone. As Chel just stood there with her jaw about to hit the floor she squealed. "We have to go to your house so we can make you look totally hot for Stevie's party tonight!" As she was talking she was pulling me out to her car and pushing me into the passenger side seat. Did that really just happen?
