Chapter 5
"Slow down!" I was yelling at Nick. I could feel him vibrate, which meant he was laughing. I clung to him for dear life. Please Lord don't let me die. I was secretly praying inside my mind for several minutes. "Having fun Princess?" "No, not really." I feel like I'm going to puke. No, don't puke on him, that would ruin this. I closed my eyes so tight you would have thought they were cemented together. The smell of his leather jacket on me was calming. I felt a nudge and I looked up at Nick, trying to hold back the fear that was currently coursing throughout my body. We were at a stop sign, but with it being close to midnight, no one was on the road. "Doing alright back there?" He smirked his cute little badass smirk. "Yup, just peachy," Another lie. And at that he picked up his feet and sped away, faster than the roadrunner from the cartoon.
"Damn you and your bad boy ways! He vibrated again. "Don't you like having fun babe?" Babe? He has only ever called me Princess and he has always said it in a sarcastic tone. But this wasn't sarcastic, this seemed to whole-heartedly come from him. After a few more minutes we had stopped. I still hadn't opened my eyes when I felt Nick step off the bike. I knew we weren't at the party because I heard no music. "Open your eyes," Nick said in a hushed tone. I opened my eyes and I couldn't believe what I saw.
Eli's POV
She's gone. He took her, on his bike. I ran inside with this on my mind. Chel, I need to find Chel. She was upstairs in a T.V. room watching Paranormal Activities 3 when I grabbed her wrist and dragged her out, into one of the bedrooms that were not occupied. "Em. Is. Gone," I said almost out of breath from sprinting up here. "What do you mean she's gone?" "She went with Nick on his Harley! Come on we have to go find her!" "Eli, Em is a big girl. She can take care of herself." Not really what I wanted to hear at the moment. But Chel is right, Em is responsible. She wouldn't do anything stupid. Would she?
Emily's POV
"Nick, it's beautiful!" We were near a river or stream of some sort. The city wasn't too far from here and the lights glistened off the water. There was a slight hill but not a big one. He smiled a soft smile, one I had never seen before. It seemed to give him pleasure in me liking this secret location. "How'd you find this place anyway," I asked him. "My mom and dad used to take me here for picnics when I was little, now it's a place where I can think and clear my head." Well it looks like Mr. Badass has a soft side. "I better get you back to the party, your friends are probably going bezerk over you not being there." I knew he was right, but I didn't want to leave. "Don't worry Princess," there's the sarcastic tone," I can bring you up here anytime you want."
We soon arrived back at the party, and I soon came to realize I missed the quiet hill already. As I walked inside I felt arms wrap around me sending electricity through my body, "I had fun tonight." This sent shocks through my spine, good shocks, comforting shocks. Then all of a sudden my thoughts were interrupted by a voice yelling toward Nick. "Get your hands off of her!" It's was Eli. I felt Nick tense, but he never let go of me. "Are you deaf? Get your greasy little hands off of her." With this Nick let go of me and stepped towards Eli. "What did you say?" Eli was not short but compared to Nick, he was a midget. "If you ever touch her again then I swear you won't live to see tomorrow!" Why is he acting this way? "Is that a challenge, little boy?" Fuck, fuck, fuck. Eli just shut up and walk away before you get killed. "Ya, it is." SHUT THE HELL UP!
Next thing I knew Eli and Nick were throwing punches at each other. I knew Nick was an esteemed fighter with a history of sending people to the hospital, and I didn't want Eli to be one of his victims. So I did something that anyone would do. Got between them. Eli had blood rushing out of his nose and Nick had a bruise on his cheek. "Stop!" I stood in between Eli, who was currently on the floor, and Nick who was standing up. Nick no longer had cold, hard eyes, but now they were to their normal soft brown. Nick started to appoligize, "Emily, I am sorry I don't know what came over me its just." I ignored him and turned to Eli, "Are you ok?!? I am so sorry this happened to you!" Then I realized something. Eli's eyes were glossed over again. He had drunken even more when I was gone. I motioned to Chel and told her to get the car, we were going home.
