As we were riding I started to think about what he was going to show me. "Nick?" He just grunted in response. "Nick are you okay?"
"Yeah Princess. I'm fine. This is just hard for me."
"If you don't want to show me you don't have to."
"No. You need to know. I can't keep this from you."
We rode in silence for five more minutes. When we got to a clearing of trees I was confused beyond belief. What could he be hiding in a clearing of trees? I waited for him to say something. He looked so hurt standing there. He didn't speak or look at me. I stepped in front of him and he had tears in his eyes. I sat him down and held him in my arms for a little bit, like he had done for me. When he finally looked at me, he looked so vulnerable, like Danny. I felt so bad.
"This is where he died. My best friend."
"Wait, who? How?"
"It's all my fault." He buried his face in his hands. "I was driving my car down this road, he was in the passenger seat. We stopped at this clearing and sat here drinking some beers, just talking. We heard this screeching sound and a loud roar of an engine. The next thing I knew I was in the hospital three days later." He shook a little and started to cry again. "I had found out that the car we heard had a gunman in it. He had seen us and shot us. I got hit in the arm, and passed out from shock. But Charlie got hit in the lung and couldn't be saved."
Nick started to weep this time. He wept for ten minutes. I just rocked him slowly trying to sooth him. "Nick. It's not your fault. It's that guys fault."
"No. It's mine. If I never brought him here then he would've never gotten shot."
"Nick, you know that it's not your fault." I tilted his chin up so he could look at me. "Stop thinking this is your fault. Because its not! I know it's not." And with that I kissed him. It wasn't just an I-want-you-to-believe-me kiss. It was a loving kiss. After what felt like an eternity, we finally backed away from each other.
"I believe you. I don't know why, but since you told me it wasn't my fault. I know it wasn't my fault."
"I have one more question. How does the blond girl fit into this story?"
"Oh, that was Charlie's sister. She was the one that told me it was my fault. Now I know what a load of bull shit that was." Then something magical happened. I got my cocky, egotistical, bad boy back. He pushed me over to the ground, and hovered over me. He just smirked at me.
"Have I told you how much I love you?"
"You love me?"
"Of course Princess! Don't you love me?"
Of course I love him. I was just really nervous about saying it first, but now I don't have to.
"Of course I do Nick. I love you more than I've loved anyone in my life."
With that he closed the distance between us and he kissed me, slowly then all at once. Then he started to put his hands up the back of my shirt. I gasped a little but then gladly let him massage the small of my back. He licked my bottom lip asking for entry which I gladly granted him. Then his hands started to creep up my back and around to my stomach. My stomach erupted with butterflies. I didn't know if I was ready for this kind of affection, but with Nick I knew I was ready for it now. He slowly lifted my shirt to reveal my skin to the cool night air. Then he started to do his magic, licking my neck and the valley of that area of my chest. I never knew this would feel this good. Before I knew it I got greedy and wanted more of him. I started to tug at his shirt, hoping he would get the clue. Which he did, and his shirt was quickly on the ground next to us. Along with mine. We started to slow down a bit, as we were running out of breath. I started to trace over his abs. He slightly moaned in response. He then whispered in my ear, "I love you Princess, more than you could ever know."
