"You don't need to do this!"
"You don't understand Emily! They will hurt you and I can't let them do that. I can't" A sad look crossed Nick's eyes. But I didn't care.
"Nick I'm a big girl. I need you in my life and I'm not letting your step dad ruin it!" The tears I was holding back are finally falling. I'm not letting Nick break up with me just to protect me.
"Emily please. I can't let him hurt you." He took my face in hi hands. "I can't. I wasn't totally honest with you about Charlie." I just looked at him. "It was me who was supposed to be killed. Not Charlie. Timothy had followed me thinking I was alone. Then." He stopped and buried his face in his hands. "I can't let that happen to you."
"Nick please."
"No. Goodbye Emily." He got up from the couch and walked out the door. Why I didn't chase after him I don't know.
"Emmy?" I was crying at this point. Danny ran over and sat down next to me. "It's otay Emmy. He'll cwome back."
"I'm not sure about that Danny."
"He lwoves you Emmy! He'll cwome back. And if he doesn't tell me and I'll take care of it." Danny said while puffing out his chest trying to look intimidating. I just giggled.
"Thanks Danny."
"Nwo pwobwem Emmy!" I ruffled his hair.
"How about some ice cream?"
"Yay!"
