I continued to go to school as normal, studying specifically about guns and knives. Weaknesses of the body. How to capture my prey. How to...lure them to me. I went to my next class which was Music earlier, since it was one of my favourite subjects.
"Ah, early as always, Blaze?" Mr. Hepplewhite asked.
I sighed and smiled weakly. "Why not? I have no business out there"
"Don't you have people to sit with?" Mr Hepplewhite asked, concerned.
"Oh, no I'm okay." I replied.
"Aren't you hungry?" He questioned me. I shook my head no. I had been getting quite skinny for the past few months, but it's alright.
"Mr Hepplewhi-" I stammered but he interrupted.
"Call me Aaron" he answers.
I smiled, confused. "What?"
"When we're alone you can call me Aaron" he side smiled. Mr Hepplewh-...Aaron was actually quite the gentleman. He had slick back jet black with the most heart warming green eyes ever. He had a strong jaw and it seemed like he worked out.
"There's a talent show, I think you should audition" he spoke.
I laughed. "You're quite funny, Aaron"
He chuckled. "I'm not joking Blaze. You have a killer voice, if you don't audition, I will fail you"
"But... that's not fair" I croaked.
"You have a voice. Use it." He spoke, encouraging me. I finally sighed and found the courage to put my name in the audition list. What song would I sing? I don't have to worry about that. What dress would I wear? I wasn't to sing some stupid happy song because I'm not happy. And I want everyone to know the pain they've put me through. Everyone that put me through pain. And as I gripped onto the gun and cocked it. I vowed to never trust anyone. From this day onwards, it would be me, myself and I. I went home and threw all my clothes out of the wardrobe. What was I going to wear? Auditions are a month away. Then I have prom the month after that. I didn't have any clothes for the auditions, most of my clothes were beginning to rip or go old. I did have money but I was saving. I decided to help out at the cafe to earn some money to buy some clothes. I was going to start working next week. I wanted to write my own song this time, something that would touch the audience...

I was working at the cashier, I checked the time on my phone. 4:28pm. 32 more painful minutes left. I was surprised when an unexpected face casually strolled into the cafe.
"Blaze?" Adri spoke. I looked up and immediately realised who she was.
I faked a big smile. "Hey Adri, how are you? It's been so long. Five months?"
She laughed. "Yeah, we came back for the talent show. Oh, and Prom."
I looked down, smiling sadly, but not in a way she would recognise. "That's...that's great. I'm glad to see you"
Her gaze flickered to my arms. Shit! My cuts! I pulled my sleeves down.
"Blaze, is everything alright?" She asked, her voice concerned.
Tears pricked my eyes and I chuckled. "You see Adri, nothing's okay. But it must be easy for you" I gave her a slice of lemon cake.
"I don't have any money" she smiled awkwardly.
"It's free, welcome gift from me." I wiped my tears away. She left and thanked me. After a long shift I went home and threw myself into bed. Tomorrow I'll go shopping. I thought. I'm prepared, just need a new outfit and I'm ready to go. I closed my eyes and heaved a long sigh, drifting into an ocean of broken dreams.
