Chapter 35: The Proposal

I fluttered my eyes open. Damn, what happened last night?! Groaning, I sat up. Realising that I was in my room, next to Aurelia, I sighed of relief. I also noticed Ashton sleeping on the couch. He probably brought me back here...how embarrassing! I decided to take a shower, so I threw my clothes off. It took me about thirty minutes to shower and refresh myself. I couldn't see myself in the mirror, so I wiped it. I noticed how tired I looked. I was also running out of money. I sighed, not looking forward to the day. I got dressed and went to the kitchen where Aurelia and Ashton were having some breakfast. Aww, how cute! Father, daughter bonding already. Ashton had made some scrambled eggs and buttered up toasts. Aurelia's favourite. I turned away and put on my jacket, ready to leave for work.

"Hi mommy!" Aurelia smiles.

I smiled back at my ray of sunshine. "Hey honey". I held her in my arms and showered her with kisses. Ashton was probably watching.

"Morning, I made you some breakfast" He smiles awkwardly.

Why? It's not like we're together anymore... I thought.

"Thanks..." I replied. I ate my breakfast, then went to work.

>>WEEKS LATER<<

ASHTON'S POV:

Something was wrong. VERY wrong. Blaze was more tired every day and she kept taking morning pills. She was getting skinnier. Whatever work she had to go to, she wasn't getting paid enough. Aurelia's getting worried. Yesterday, Blaze took Lia out for dinner. Lia ate but she didn't. Of course, I asked her because I knew my daughter was telling the truth.

"Why didn't you eat?" I asked, curiously.

She scoffed. "Of course I ate"

"Then why aren't you telling me this WHILST looking at me in the eye?" I queried her.

"I wasn't hungry..." she muttered.

She was lying.

"What do you mean you weren't hungry? You're getting skinnier everyday. You're underweight! What even is this 'secret' job? Why aren't you getting a decent amount of money?" I bombarded her with questions.

She walked away. Fine. I'll follow her to 'work' tomorrow.

I woke up at seven in the morning, ready to start the day and dropped Aurelia to school. When I came back Blaze was drinking her morning pills. Again.

"Can I drop you off to work?" I asked.

She cleared her throat. "No, it's only a ten minute walk"

She grabbed her bag and put on her waistcoat. She left the clubhouse and I got ready to follow her. After ten minutes she walked into a house. I sneaked in and walked around the halls. I saw her name on a door and walked in, furious to what I saw. She needed money, and so she became a prostitute. Anger raged through me.

"Aye man, can you leave?" The man holding Blaze asked. I grabbed him by his hair and pulled him out, punching him. Blaze pulled me off her, but I continued punching him. I can't believe she'd let another man touch her like that when she could've asked me for money. I grabbed her hand leading her back to the room and locked the door. She looked afraid. I threw the chair to the walls.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?!" I yelled. She flinched.

I sighed. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled. Let's go"

She didn't hesitate to put on her coat and grab her bag. The car ride was silent. When we got to the clubhouse, she ran to the room and locked herself in.

"Open the door!" I raised my voice. I could hear sobs. Maybe I was too hard on her...

I unlocked the door, and wrapped my arms around her. Her sobs died down eventually. I looked at her pale, fragile face that were once full of life, now fading away.

"You need to relax, go take a bath and I'll cook you something" I suggested.

Her eyes lit up. "You can cook now?"

"Of course" I chuckled. "What do you want to eat?"

"Lamb chops and roast potatoes with some gravy and some salad" She spoke.

"I'll be back in half an hour" I called.

BLAZE'S POV:

I sat in the bath, surrounded by bubbles. I decided to get out the bath, realising I forgot my towels and my clothes. What the fuck? I know if I walk out, Ashton's suddenly going to walk in and see me naked. Yeahhhh...I read WAY too many romance books.

Suddenly the door opened. Oh my God. It was Ashton.

"I'm sorry, I thought you were done..." He muttered, looking me up and down.

I rolled my eyes. "Eyes up here buddy"

He smirked. "Well damn, sorry. But it's not like I haven't seen you like this before"

I scoffed, laughing. "Yeah, like five years ago? Plus, you're married"

"To a girl who cheats on me" He pouted.

"You're still a married man, though" I replied, pushing him out the way and putting on some clothes. I turned around to see him holding a tray of food. I lifted my hand to grab some food. Ashton studied my hand.

"What?" I asked.

"You kept the ring..." he smiled sadly. I put my hand down. He left the tray on the table, and made his way to the door.

"Wait...don't go" I begged. He stopped in his tracks. I hugged him from behind.

"Don't do that" he growled. I stood back. I'm such an idiot. He looked at me, tears stinging his eyes. I cupped his face.

"I missed you" He spoke, his head touching mine.

"Ashton..." I whispered. His lips were now inches away from mine. My heart was like a ticking bomb, but it was ticking really fast. He could probably hear it. He pulled me closer as I enjoyed his passionate kiss. It was so sweet. We were suddenly on the bed when he began to unbutton his shirt.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Don't make me wait any longer" he begged.
I sighed. "Ashton...I want to, I really do. But you're married... and you love her. I look at the ring you wear and I think of how happy you both looked at your wedding. I can't do this... I can't"
"Blaze- " He spoke.
"No!" I shouted angrily. "There are plenty of whores who can satisfy your needs. I'm sure you've slept with plenty of them already. You know what?! I'm NOT going to be added to your list of whores!"
I got up and opened the bedroom door.
"Leave" I whispered.
"Blaze, c'mon..." he spoke whispering.
"I SAID LEAVE!!" I screeched.

>>A Few Months Later<<
I haven't spoken to Ashton about anything whatsoever, except about Aurelia. Vage and I started dating six months ago. I really do love him. As for Adri, she's okay now she knows that I've backed off her man. I regret what I said to Ashton, and I miss him.... but it's been too long. I moved on, he moved on... It's time to move on again. The reason I say this... is because me and Vage are getting married. Aurelia seems to like him, thank God for that! Cassie, Chloe and Sarah know. Aurelia would be my flower girl, Sarah and Chloe my bridesmaids and Cassie would be the maid of honour. Cassie...doesn't seem too happy however. Our wedding is in two weeks now and the venue is all set. It's going to be at a Church. And the night before would be the party. I have invitations for the whole club to the wedding, of course. I've grown really close to everyone.

>>That Night<<
Everyone turned up for the announcement.
"Hey bitch, sooo what's the event?" Adri smirked. Her eyes then widened. "Holy shit, are you pregnant?"
I gasped and threw a tissue at her. "No!" Everyone looked at each other in confusion.
"Blaze and I are getting married in two weeks" Vage smiled.
"And you're all invited!" I added on shyly. Everyone cheered, except for Ashton...
