DECEMBER FIRST
Finn headed for the kitchen, where Scorpio casually read the day's newspaper like the proper adult he definitely wasn't.
She looked at him and cracked a smile as she opened the fridge, "Reading the paper, hun?" She asked.
"Yeah." She replied, distractedly.
She closed the fridge as there was nothing in there that she wanted. "Any news?"
He looked up from the paper and to her with an adorable smirk. "Cute."
She smiled and walked over to him. "Have you heard anything new about Baby?" She asked him while she caressed his hair.
"Uh, yeah, actually." He closed the newspaper, "I think he might... be dating someone."
She looked at Scorpio, "Oh."
They both looked at opposite directions.
"Look, I really tried not to take sides when Everest broke up with B." Scorpio began again, "And when I realized that was impossible, I tried to pick Everest. Really." She did not like where this was going. "It's just that... Baby's my bro. I've got his back, you know?" Finn nodded, "And also, Everest is being a jerk."
Finn disapproved of the comment, "Maybe you should be mad at Baby's mom, not Everest. She did what was best for him."
He scoffed, "She could have just broken up with him like a normal person instead of crushing his spirit and destroying every hope in humanity he had left."
"She did what she thought she had to do for Baby's future. She wanted to end it in a way so that Baby wouldn't keep trying because she knew she wouldn't be able to handle it. She's the hero of this story."
He laughed, "Hero? Baby, it's adorable how wrong you are."
She laughed, "It's adorable how you have no idea who my friends are and still want to pretend like you know them more than I do. I know Everest. As a matter of fact, I would have done the same to you."
"What?" He scoffed, "Are you fucking kidding me?"
She inhaled, "I mean, if I had the courage and I had to it for your good, then yeah, I would."
"You have no right to make that decision for me. You have no right!"
"So you'd easily allow my life to fall apart and my dreams to be completely thrown away because you assume our relationship is more important than the life I've always wanted and dreamt of? Because that's the decision you'd be making for me!"
At this point, they were both standing opposite each other standing up like two ultimate fighters prepared for the bell to ring.
"So the life you've always wanted and dreamed of does not include me?" He asked.
She scoffed, "Well you know what Lady Gaga says."
He sneered, "No! I obviously don't know what Lady Gaga says!"
Finn crossed her arms. "She says that if you ever have to choose between your job or a lover you should choose the job because it won't wake up one day and decide that it doesn't love you anymore."
Scorpio remained silent. Then, he broke it by whispering: "Yeah, well, the job will never say it loves you, period."
They stared at each other for almost a minute. "You know, Scorps, this is a pretty big argument. It's one of those arguments that we can't just agree to disagree on." Finn made clear, while Scorpio nodded, acknowledging it.
