I didn't wanna hold him, but i knew that he would drown if i let go. i didn't wanna touch him but i knew that he would break if he felt such  tender skin press against his.  so i stayed calm. i held my breath. a sudden breath, a sweet movement. would wither him away like sand in a hurricane of a beautiful beach. my chest tightened. my heart beat slower

and slower

                                       and slower

until it stopped. he told me he wouldn't let go. and he didn't. until i was deep in the sleep of the dead before he his hand could depart from mine.
