With a breath of Earth – I fly
Fly with these wings, I have to strive
Strive so once I’ll experience those heights
Heights that even once I may not have.

Have I chosen that flower that gives that nectar,
Nectar and juices that’ll support my life,
Life that I almost never have,
Have I chosen not to chrysalis, I may have died?

Died, withered trees, there, I once reside
Reside with greens, from those beaks, thoughts screamed “hide”
Hide and to incognito, I tried to survive
Survive in this nature, though in silence, I cried

Cried an ocean but no one cared
Cared? Wait. It was the word that he never dared.
Dared, I, that fellow once, if twice, he’ll just go
Go to crawl, into their hive, he won’t ever show

Show those pretty wings and you’ll be a victim
Victim or plaything of those bipedal beasts
Beasts such as those who, for fun, kills somebody
Somebody such as those who outshine their beauty.
Beauty, remember, can also be an eternity
Eternity that lasts for numbered days only
Only those with purity can see truly
Truly and clearly know that it’s not for show only.

Only I can attest these stages of me
Me that crawls, me that crystalizes, me that grows
Grows to what the colony would not want to see
See that I, too, can morph with wings on my body.
