The Torture Tour

Chapter 8

I am finally on board of the plane that will be flying me to Australia. I forgot exactly how long the flight is, but I know that it is a long one. I plug my headphones in and lose myself in my work again.

I feel a tap on my shoulder. I take out a headphone and look over at the person next to me.

You are very good at that the teenage boy sitting beside me says.

Thanks I have a deadline so back to work I tell him putting my head phone back in. I have no desire to talk to the kid beside me. Another tap on my shoulder interrupt me again.

Weren't you touring with 5sos?

You have me mixed up with someone else I am sorry.

Okay it's just that you look just like the girl that was touring with them.

Like I said you have me mixed up with someone else. I don't even know who 5sos is I say playing dumb.

Sorry for disturbing you. I will let you get back to work. The kid takes a picture without being seen and posts it on his instagram page with the caption sitting by the chick that is touring with 5sos. She is one bad ass artist.

I work the rest of the flight not being able to sleep. I am lost in my work when I realize what song is playing when I hear Michael's beautiful voice singing. I quickly yank out my headphones before trying to get lost in my work again. I have a lot of work ahead of me to rebuild the walls that Michael tore down before crushing my heart.

I must have managed to drift off to the sleep because the next thing I know I am being shaken awake by the kid sitting next to me.

We are fixing to be landing. You need to fasten your seatbelt.

Thanks I tell the kid as I fasten my seatbelt and start putting my sketch book and pencils back into my bag.

If you don't mind me asking what brings you to Australia?

I needed a vacation and I always wanted to see Australia. All the pictures I have ever seen are so beautiful, and I wanted to see that beauty with my own eyes.

It is very beautiful. I am staying with my dad for a couple of weeks. He moved here after him and my mom divorced. It is a really cool place. I hope that you enjoy your time here.

My mom had a really creative imagination so I ended up with the name.

We remain quiet the rest of the time before we finally land, and we both stand to grab our carry on bags. You were a really good seat mate thank you for not trying to talk to me the whole flight.

I know not to bother an artist when they are working. My dad is a painter.

Do you have any hidden talents of your own?

Music I love writing music. I am a fairly decent piano player and I am trying to learn how to play the guitar.

Well Ethan I wish you all the luck with your music. As hard as it can sometime get don't give up on your dream. Most dreams are worth the effort that we have to put in to make it.

How did you know that I was having doubts about my music?

It was in your voice. I am going to give you a number. The man you are going to talk to is Cody. He is my brother. Tell him that I gave you his number. Make arrangements to meet with him. He will help you a lot. A word of warning he is gay and married to his soul mate. If you upset him in any way about his sexuality I will hunt you down and kick your ass.

My dad is gay. I don't have a problem with it at all. My step father is really cool and they really love each other a lot. I would never make anyone uncomfortable about who they are in love with.

I head to get my bag from the baggage claim before I walk outside. I am supposed to have a car waiting to take me to the hotel. I see my name on a sign and quickly head toward it. Jet lag has officially caught up with me. I need something to eat and a soft bed for about twelve hours.

Are you going to tell me how I am going to get Wren back?

The first thing that you are going to do is finish your tour. There is nothing you can do right now, and Wren is going to need some time.

So I am supposed to do nothing for the next four months.

That is what I am saying. There is one thing that you can do right now. Set the record straight in your next interview. Let the world know who you are in love with. Tell your story all of it. You can't lie. Not everyone will believe it, but most people will. Wren doesn't usually get on social media much, but there is no way that she will be able to miss the interview. Especially if you talk about you picking out a promise ring for her.

I am a very private person and you want me to expose myself to the whole world.

You do the same thing with your music. This is just a more direct way of doing the same thing. Do you really think that you are not exposing yourself when you write songs like Jet Black Heart?

I will do whatever it takes to get Wren to listen to me. I never believed in soul mates until I met her. She is my other half. I feel like I can face anything with her by my side. I can't imagine the rest of my life without her in it.

Then the first thing you need to do is finish the tour so that you have the time to get her back. It is going to take more than a couple of days because my sister is very stubborn.

That is one of the first things that I noticed about her. That and her sassy mouth. As much as she hates it I have always been able to see behind her walls. I get glimpses of who she really is, and that is the woman that I fell in love with not the one that she shows the world.

No if I can get her to listen to me then everything will be alright. I know how to handle her. How do you think I managed to get her to date me to begin with? I gave her no choice I showed her who she belonged with and left no room for argument.

Noted Michael. Yes you are very good for my sister. She probably didn't mention that I am her twin. She is older by ten minutes, and she never let's me forget it. I will do anything for her and if you hurt her again even if it is out of your control you will disappear and no one will ever find your body.

I think we do. Now guys what is on the agenda for today?

We are going to find a quite little pub and relax Ashton says.

I see that my sister has gotten a hold of you. I know the perfect place.

Yeah she taught us the value of a great pub versus a big noisy club. We still will be going to noisy clubs just not for the rest of this tour. We all agreed we are going to be better role models for our fans.

Yep you have definitely been around my sister for too long. I believe you have a radio interview today at two.

Michael it is your choice how you want to handle this. I will be behind you no matter what you do.
