While Simon was driving to the City of Bones, everyone could feel the tension. The Fray siblings sat far away as possible in the stuffed van.

When they arrived and exited the vehicle, the two once again put as much as distance as they could. "Yeah, this place isn't creepy. Not at all," Simon commented.

Izzy chuckled at the words. "Don't tell me you're afraid." Simon turned to her and scoffed, "are you kidding me? I was born afraid... which sounded al lot better in my head."

"Let's check it out," the older Lightwood ordered. The two other professional hunters followed, Clary walking behind Jace only to be stopped by his hand on her chest.

"Wait here a minute. I wanna see if it's safe." Clary nodded and took a small step back. The two best friends started having a hushed conversation, Justin no paying attention to them or the other Shadowhunters there.

He still felt angry from the argument with Clary and he definitely needed to control himself. He felt something inside him, something that the rage brought out. He felt the urge to hurt his sister, wanted to snap her neck.

Justin was brought out of his trance by Jace's voice. "Clary, Justin. Come on, it all clear."

The ginger rolled his eyes, kind of surprised the blond Shadowhunter remembered he was there. He began to walk forward and patted Simon on the shoulder after noticing his distressed expression when Clary held Jace's hand.

"Don't worry buddy, he has no chance if I have a say in it."

Simon smiled at that. Justin Fray didn't like Simon Lewis that much but he always wanted what was better for his sister, and Justin believed Simon was that not Jace.

The group continued to walk, Clary and Jace leading the way, with Isabelle and Simon following and Alec and Justin on the back.

The raven haired boy took a look at the younger boy besides him and noticed his furrowed eyebrows.

"Are you okay?"

Justin's head snapped to his right and hi raised one eyebrow. "Are you willingly talking to me? And asking me if I'm okay?" Alec rolled his eyes. "You seem upset and I'm not in the mood to deal with you like that," Alec answered.

"Well in that case, I'm fine."

Alec knew he was lying but he didn't want to push the subject any further so he just continues walking.

They arrived to the entrance, skulls and bones surrounding the entrance. "Huh, now we know why they call it 'City of Bones'," Justin commented, earning a small chuckle from Isabelle.

"I can do this." "Yeah, you can. You're Clary freakin' Fray. You can do anything," Simon assured. The mundane went to walk in only to have Jace stop him with his arm.

"Alright, hold up."

"Surprise, surprise. No mundanes allowed, just like in the training room, right? Wrong! I've seen every horror movie ever made and the funny best friend who gets left behind... dead man."

"You're not that funny," Jace said, shutting down Simon's self esteem. "But by all means go ahead. Of course, the minute you enter, you'll die."

Simon stopped at the door and turned to the blond. "Problem is, now I don't trust you."

"He's not lying," Alec added. "Now. He was before," Isabelle pointed out. "The rune energy in the City of Bone will kill any mundane who dares to enter so, please..." Alec made a gesture with his hands indicating for Simon to enter.

The brunette looked down defeated and started walking away from the door. "The Brothers creep me out. I'll mind the mundane," Isabelle offered. "Your sacrifice is noted, Izzy."

Justin tuned out of the conversation and walked away only to have a hand take a hold of his wrist. "Where do you think you're going?"

Justin turned to the voice, rolling his eyes. "You're so controlling, you know that?" Alec just stared at him. "I'm not wanted around here so I'm going to explore. And before you say anything, I can take care of myself, so, kindly piss off."

Justin shrugged Alec's hand from his wrist and continued to walk away. He wondered around the perimeter, just clearing his head.

What was wrong with him? He never felt the urge to hurt his sister like tonight, whenever he was angry his mom was always there to calm him down. But what Justin didn't know was that his mother always traced the calm anger rune.

He heard footsteps approaching from behind him and he groaned. "Look, Lightwood. I told you what I was doing, just leave me alone." When he turned around there was no one there.

Justin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Then from behind him a unfamiliar girl voice spoke. "Hello. You sure are a pretty thing." Justin looked at her and frowned. "No, I'm not. Besides I don't swing for your team."

The woman chuckled and smiled, fangs showing. "Oh crap," Justin sighed. A hand clasped over his mouth and a male voice whispered in his ear. "You better be quiet."

Next thing Justin knows, he's being dangled by his feet over a ledge, Simon right besides him. "Is that the mundane's name? Then what's the redhead's name?" The vampire yelled to the group on the ground.

"You could've asked me, dude."

The four Shadowhunters on the ground looked up  with anger on their features.

"What's your name?" The vamp asked him. "No, not telling you now."

Simon groaned at the redhead. "Justin could you stop, I don't really want to die."

"I'm afraid Simon and Justin are coming with us," the man yelled down. "No! No, he's not a part of this," Clary called, trying to run forward. Jace stopped he before she could get herself killed.

"And it'll be my pleasure to kill you unless you return them," Jace threatened. "Careful. We'd be violating the Accords," Alec reminded him.

"I'm afraid your sidekick's quite right. The Night Children have broken no laws. We're negotiating. The mundane, unharmed, and the Shadowhunter, a little beat up, in exchange for the Mortal Cup," the vamp informed.

"Dude, I'm going to break your nose over and over if you don't let me go." When the woman made a move to release his feets, Justin yelped. "Now that I think about it, don't let go."

"And the clock is ticking. Tick-tick people."

And with that the vampires fled, Justin and Simon with them.
