This was definitely not a good day for Justin Morgenstern. With the demon causing chaos all around the city, and now Alec informing them that Izzy left the Institute, things were a bit crazy. Oh, and the fact that she's missing and Azazel, the greater demon, may have her brings everyone to their toes.
"I thought Izzy had the flu. Why would she leave the Institute?" Clary asked as they all met around a table. "I don't know. But if he's hurt her..." Alec couldn't finish the sentence. It was too much for him to think his siter may be in deep trouble and he was not there for her.
"Hey, she could have escaped. We don't even know id he has her," Jace said, trying to reassure his brother that everything would be alright. "Jace is right. This is Isabelle, for crying out loud. She's the most badass woman there is."
Alec shook his head at Justin's comment. "She hasn't called. And she's no answering her phone. But she's still alive. I know it, it's just... he's got her." the video in front of them played the security footage from the bar, the face recognition software focusing on the man in the video, identifying him as Azazel.
"What does he want?" That was the question that was plaguing everyone's thoughts and time. Having a greater demon on the loose with no idea what his plan was, is not something to take lightly.
"I don't know, but we should inform the inquisitor, okay?"
Justin knew that with the new leadership on hold until further notice, the inquisitor was their commander and she should know about what was going on. But truth be told, se didn't like that woman.
"She's in a meeting with the Alicante Council."
Alec took a deep breath and sighed, closing his eyes in frustration. Instinctively, Justin placed a hand on his back and ran it up and down in a form of comfort. He didn't want to overstep his boundaries, especially when Alec was feeling so poor.
"I don't understand. Why Izzy? What does a Greater Demon want with her?" The question lingered in the air for a few seconds before Jace took the time to answer. "I'm not sure. But I think I know who we could ask." Justin rolled his eyes and threw his head back, knowing fully well who he was talking about.
Jace and Clary went down to talk to Valentine while Justin decided to sit this one out, because being close to Valentine irked him and he was struggling to control his anger and seeing his father would make him unleash it, which would be dangerous for him and everyone around.
Clary came upstairs and grabbed his brother's wrist and dragged him to her room, shutting the door with force behind her. "Did you know?" The question came as quite a shock to Justin as he was minding his own business before Clary basically forced him inside the small room. What she was talking about, Justin had no idea, so incredulously, he played right into her game.
"I'm sorry, you need to elaborate on that for me to form a coherent answer."
Clary glared at him, her eye twitching at his words. "Be serious for once in your life, Justin. Did you know?" The redhead boy was taken aback with the aggression in her voice, and instantly felt threatened by her unexplained accusations and choice of words since the conversation started.
"I don't know what's gotten into you but watch how you speak to me. I don't know what makes you think you can speak so vile and full of resentment to me, your brother. If I tell you I don't know what you're accusing me about, it's the truth. Don't step out of place and demand things from me. You know that's not how I roll, Clary."
