Chapter 1- Something Strange in the Forbidden Forest

Hermione's POV

I laughed lightly as I walked in the middle of the two boys that made my life interesting. Since there was more work than ever before and Hagrid had been begging us to visit him, Harry and Ron convinced Professor Sprout to let us take something to Hagrid at the end of Herbology. I had no part in this plan except for whispering angrily and telling them that they were going to pay for this later on.

We soon reached the hut that housed our giant friend. I glanced around nervously; hopefully no one saw us. Something caught me eye, however, when I looked toward the Forbidden Forest. No, I told myself. I must be seeing things. My imagination liked to run wild, especially after everything that happened with the time-turner last year.

"Yer here!" Hagrid chortled, opening up his front door to greet us. I hurried in quickly to avoid being seen. We settled down inside and waited for Hagrid to close the door and sit down with us. I exchanged glances at the other two to notify them that this wouldn't happen often. If we were ever caught...

Harry did most of the talking, which was fine by me. He informed Hagrid of our daily lives and answered whatever he wished to know. Jokes wrapped all the tidbits of information together and we laughed occasionally. Although, we did have to politely refuse Hagrid's rock cakes again.

I checked my muggle watch. We had just enough time to talk for a few more minutes before the rest of our class arrived for Care of Magical Creatures. Hagrid suggested we take a look at our latest class projects: blast-ended skrewts. So we willingly followed him into the depths of the Forbidden Forest, being careful not to stray too far.

After multiple times of Ron wondering aloud if we had reached our destination, Hagrid confirmed that we would be reaching it any minute now. Harry, Ron, and I swirled around as a loud swooshing noise came from behind us. If I had to compare it to anything, I'd say it sounded most like a large gust of wind.

To our enormous surprise, a bright blue police telephone box stood before us. The light on top shone radiantly as it flashed in sync with the strange noise it emitted. I studied it carefully and took many mental notes. The box defied all magical laws. How did it get here? It just suddenly appeared, my conscious replied. No, that can't be right. I fought back. What was going on?

Just as I was about to speak, a man and a woman stepped out from the box. The man had brown hair that stuck in many directions, much like Harry's, but with more control. The woman beside him had fiery, red hair and could be an older relative of Ron.

We all stared at each other in shock. After quickly inspecting their appearance, logic began to kick into gear once more. How could the two of them simply step out of the box and seem that comfortable? It had to be tight in there. The blue box bothered me, and while I stood there wondering, the man spoke. "Hello, I'm the Doctor!"
