Chapter 9- Carrionite, Carrionite

The Doctor's POV

"Hello, Doctor," the Carrionites cackled happily. It was obvious they were excited to see me; however, I was not. "How did you escape? I locked you in the crystal ball?" They smiled all the more ferociously. "The ball cracked and opened up to let us roam into the sky."

I scrunched my brows in confusion. "But how..." I pondered aloud before the Carrionites interrupted. "The boy did it. The ball fell out of the box and we were released." I turned to face their outstretched fingers, which were pointing at Ron. His ears and face turned a shade of red I hadn't imagined possible. "Sorry," he muttered, not looking at me. Hermione simply tutted and shook her head.

"It matters not how we escaped," the Carrionites continued. "We will take over your universe and there is nothing you can do to stop us!" the evil witches laughed evilly. The Golden Trio exchanged glances. I guess they didn't know how to stop this enemy. How were we going to stop them? I had fought them before, not too long ago, but my memory was wearing thin.

"I know!" I shouted, mostly to myself. The Carrionites weren't unbeatable. The incantation had appeared in my mind at the proper moment. All hope wasn't lost; there was still a chance to win.

I whispered hurriedly to the Golden Trio. "Quick, what's that really easy spell?" Blank looks spread across their faces. "It's the one where the opponents wand-" I continued when Hermione's voice rang out quickly. "Expelliarmus!" I smiled and shouted, "Yes, that's it!" I hurried on, muttering instructions as quietly as I could. I hoped the enemy wouldn't recognize our strategy.

"Three!" I yelled suddenly. Harry, Ron, and Hermione raised their wands in the air as they shouted, "Expelliarmus!" Donna and I joined in. The Carrionites screamed in despair. Slowly but surely, the witches were returned to the ball, hopefully to stay much longer.

I turned to the Golden Trio. Our work was done. The adventure would never end, but I had to get them back to their original time streams. As Hermione liked to say: 'Awful things happen to wizards who meddle with time.'

We all high-fived before clambering into the TARDIS. You could tell none of us wanted to go back to where we were before. I mean, who wouldn't want to leave a time machine? But off to Hogwarts we were, goodbyes close in the future.
