@itsonedee: I knew I shouldn't have told you my full name.

Me: babe you interrupted my song

@itsonedee: Start capitalising your sentences! And don't call me babe

I smiled down at the phone in my lap, laughing at the passive aggressive girl on the screen. As much as I smothered her in affection, she seemed to turn it away.

If only she knew.

Me: I am very sorry, kind women. Do you find  this much more appealing?

@itsonedee: Ah, the sweet smell of sarcasm to brighten my Monday morning. Now I'm at work, stop distracting me!

Me: Answer the question Delilah

@itsonedee: I work as an intern at a photography company in West London

@itsonedee: IF YOU CALL ME DELILAH ONCE MORE

Me: i meant about ya favourite member

Me: and what [wink face]

I loved winding her up; it was so entertaining. I waited for the instant ping of her reply, yet my phone never rang.

An hour had passed. Then another.

My brain rattled the longer I waited for her reply, the clock ticking slowly and my mind slowly falling into insanity. I lay on the dark plush sofa with my face buried into the cushions below, letting my eyes blink shut and my mind run free.

I craved attention.

Here I was, a 23 year old guy with the best job in the world and a million fans to prove it. An A-List celebrity name, with an A-List celebrity story. I couldn't leave my house without being spotted, having to take a photo or sign my name upon a piece of paper to keep the people happy.

My schedule at times was hectic, moving so fast in between shows or interviews that I felt like I couldn't breathe. I didn't feel the days move on around me, until months had passed by and it was legally time for me to have a break.

I achieved the attention-but it was the tiring kind. It wasn't the type of attention that drove you crazy at night or left you distracted in the day. It was the type of attention that faded after seconds and left you wondering where it would end.

I was nothing but a cog; another piece of equipment to make the entertainment world spin. I loved my job, but days like this it made me realise what was important. I craved for someone who kept me company in my boring days and was there to keep me sane in my busy ones.

Delilah entertained me, her attention too pure to be found that often. She was bitter sweet, she told me as it was and I loved it.

Would things be the same if she knew who I was?

My phone buzzed on my chest, pulling me out of my daydream and leaving me to hang from the last fibres of the sofa. I peered down at the screen intently, my heart lurching and jumping high into my throat.

@itsonedee: I'm a Niall girl.

Oh god. Things will most definitely not be the same.
