"Bye, daddy!" Cole said as he ran over to a tall young blonde lady that was standing beside the playground structure.

She was in a light blue dress that had a belt around the waist and brown boots that made her seem a bit taller.

Cole ran into her leg as he tried to get to the play structure and fell on his bottom.

"Hi, little one. What's your name?" She said with a smile on her face as she watched the pouty 5 year old dust himself of and get off the ground.

"I'm Cole. What's your name, miss?" Cole said in his most polite manner. He learned from his dad to treat people with respect no matter what.

"Well, Cole. I'm Ms. Galaway," said the pretty blonde woman.

"Are you the kindergarten teacher?" Cole asked keenly looking up at her with huge smile on his face.

"Why yes I am and I can tell that I'm going to enjoy teaching you," replied Ms. Galaway. The bell rang and school had finally begun.

"Well, kids come on inside." She said as she guided the group of children into their classroom through the door leading to the playground.

She had them sit on the carpet to start the first day introductions.

"Okay, I'm going to tell you about myself then we'll go around in a circle each telling about ourselves." Ms. Galaway explained.

"Hello class, I'm Miss Galaway. My first name is Julie. I'm 26 years old and I like turtles and the colour red." She demonstrated. "Now we'll go around the cirlce."

All the children went on about their names, ages and favourite things. Some kids were a little different from the others which Julie liked to see.

There was one child that was quite humorous though. His name was Dalton Rapattoni and he was 5 years old.

"Hi, everyone. I'm Dalton Rapattoni. And I'm elevent twelve." Dalton said bold as he stood to do his introduction.

Miss Galaway tried to say his real age for awhile then just played along with his charade.

Across the carpet Cole was not impress by this blonde boy's little game. Cole always thought that if it's not necessary then don't put it out.

After introductions they learned about colours and did some art to go with what they learned.

Cole sat between Dalton and a girl with pig tails named Maria beside her was a boy name Walker who met Dalton's right side.

Dalton was colouring furiously and quite messily too and he wasn't using the appropriate colours.

"You're not supposed to colour outside the lines." Cole informed the wildly colouring boy beside him.

"It's fine, I can do what I want. It still looks nice," Dalton said flashing a mischievous smile at Cole and he set his head down on the table and "coloured" some more.

"You're also not suppose to use those colours. Those aren't the colours she said we could use." Cole explain to Dalton.

Dalton didn't like being told what to do when he was having fun.

"Whatever." Dalton shrugged.

Before they knew it was playtime and Dalton ran over to grab some toy cars.

As the girls were playing with dolls and doll houses, Dalton would drive the cars over the dolls or through the houses, making the girls cry.

"Hey, you're not supposed to play with the toys like that!" Cole rose his voice at Dalton.

Dalton really didn't like Cole's attitude.

"But I'm having fun so I don't care," Dalton said sticking his tongue out.

"Okay, but if I were you I would play like that." Cole warned rolling his cute little brown eyes in the other direction.

"I didn't ask so shut up." Dalton said as he turn his attention back to his cars on the floor.

Cole was shocked. he could believe that Dalton had just said that.

"I'm telling the teacher that you said bad words!" Cole squealed pointing at Dalton who was sitting on the floor.

"Don't! I'm sorry I said that. If you wouldn't play like this, how would you play?" Dalton asked truly wondering how it could be fun.

"I usually like to race the cars to see which can get to the finish line faster." Cole explained to Dalton.

"Okay, wanna play!" Dalton exclaimed, gesturing to the cars. Cole grabbed the red car but Dalton objected. "I want the red one."

"Oh, alright. I like blue too." Cole compromised for Dalton.

They ended up hanging around each other the rest off the day.

At lunch Cole didn't like how Walker was eating the paste so he tried to get him to stop.

"Hey, we can take one of his toys and tell him that if he doesn't stop eating paste he can't have it back." Dalton suggested.

Cole really want Walker to stop, he didn't thing it was safe or healthy so they used Dalton's idea.

Walker ended up crying into Miss Galaway's dress and she took Cole and Dalton aside for a little chat.

"Boys, would you care to explain why you took Walker's toy from him." She stated as she kneeled down and look the two 5 year old in the face.

"See, what happened was Walker was eating the paste and I didn't want him to do that because he could get sick." Cole started off.

"Then I came up with an idea to take his toy so he would stop eating the paste then he wouldn't get sick so every time he wanted to eat paste he would think of this and decide not to." Dalton finished explaining.

Julie's face had gone from slightly cheery to a bit of an angry pout.

"Next, boys you have to tell me about what a student is doing, they are my responsibility not yours. Now, I want you to go and apologize to Walker." She said sternly looking at the two ashamed boys with their heads to the floor.

"Okay," they responded in unison.

They apologize to Walker but their parents ended up hearing about their little problem solving attempt.
