"You coming or...?" Cole asked tilting his head towards the blonde standing near him.

"Oh," said Dalton coming out of his stroking over Cole. He grabbed some of the dishes from Cole to be helpful.

"You don't have..." Dalton just carried them anyway. He walked behind Cole into the kitchen/ bus person area/ dish washer station was.

"Ok so basic layout of the kitchen is the bus station then the grills and stove, next to that is the coffee preparation station and then bakery area," said Cole sounding quite professional, losing his usual playful tone of voice. "Any questions?"

"Excuse me being too forward but why have their been so many people, well mostly guys fired here?" Dalton shyly asked trying not to over step his boundaries.

"I'm not sure if I can explain that to you just yet," said Cole "but if you have other questions just ask. Primarily you'll be starting as a bus boy and dish washer but then as time goes on everyone rotates jobs then it your time to shine."

Dalton nodded in agreement.

"Can we discuss each job over lunch, maybe, like strictly business?" Dalton asked nervous looking around trying not to make eye contact with the brunette in front of him.

"Sorry, I can't but you're welcome to stay and eat and we can discuss tomorrow and the rest of the week," said Cole sound brighter and more excited. "just remember to wear this."

Cole handed him the apron and T-shirt.
Cole was trying to be as nice as he could. Dalton honestly seemed like he wanted this job so why not make sure he can keep it.

"Oh, ok and thanks. See you tomorrow," Dalton said as he clumsily exited the building.

Cole had to admit though that was absolutely adorable. I think the electric blonde was actually nervous to be around him, how sweet. Sad.

~Next day~

The clumsy blonde came rushing into the restaurant looking quite unkempt. he shirt was tucked in and his hair looked slept on.

"Sorry, I'm a little late, my mom has the car and I missed the bus and..." Dalton panted out between heavy breaths.

"Okay, okay. Calm down it's cool. You're acting like we'll chop your head off or something. Just breathe!" Cole informed him, calmly patting the hunched over gentleman on the back.

Okay, I can do this. I can get through a day of working here with Cole. Dalton kept informing himself mentally to keep his cool and don't do anything embarrassing.

Dalton pulled himself together and followed Cole into the kitchen.

"Okay so, we worked you into the shift and you and I will be doing the same jobs for the next couple weeks until you get the hang of everything. We start with busing tables and washing dishes." Cole explained.

For the next couple hours they spent their time together in the kitchen and running around picking up plates.

"Hey, Dalton. Here, if you angle your arm like this you can hold more plates with those strong arms of ours." Cole said basically wrapping his arm around Dalton's body to show him what to do.

Dalton could feel Cole body press against him and their hands ghosting the others. His breathing was growing faster.

Dalton closed his eyes and took into slower breaths as he tried to get the red colour to fade from his cheeks. Cole was flirting with him! A lot!

Of course he was flirting with him! Cole could resist. It's what he does he sees a pretty face and a hot bod and he dives in.

Cole, in some words has become a flirt whore... but only a little and with only a select few.

"Ok," murmured Dalton picking up plates and hurrying off to the kitchen.

~ Next Few Days ~

Next Shift was Cooking/Baking.

Cole and Dalton to on the gruelling task of baking the pastries for the display out front.

Biscotti was today's choice pastry. If it didn't look perfect, it wasn't worth sh*t. That was the motto.

The restaurant had been a little busy today so Cole had to take on a little extra work. He had to handle the phone orders/ catering work so he was a little distracted.

They were throwing around ingredients when Cole had to take a call and forgot to add baking powder.

Dalton was going to say something but Cole seem angry and a little stress, so stress he just told Dalton to chuck them into the oven without checking if he missed anything.

Later on Cole's parents decided to come and check on how the restaurant was doing.

"Oh you boys baked today, how'd that go?" Mrs. Pendery asked smiling at the boys behind the counter.

"Fine," said Cole finally getting a chance to breathe between taking orders and cooking as busing the tables.

"Well, I'll be the judge of that." Mrs. Pendery said taking one of the freshly baked biscottis and trying one.

Her face didn't seem too impressed with the boys work. Cole was starting to get worked.

"Boys, these pastries are a little hmm...... floppy and flat. Did you even follow the recipe properly?" asked Cole's mom. They had never made them wrong before.

"Oh mom, I'm sorry I probably forg-" Cole began saying but then was cut off by Dalton.

"I'm sorry I'd decided to take over so that Cole wouldn't be over worked handling everything. I must've forgotten to put in the baking powder. I'm sorry I'll do better next time." Dalton said till his head down in fake shame.

"Well, okay but I expect better next time." Mrs. Pendery said going into the back to check on the groceries they needed to get.

"You covered for me. Why?" Cole said confused and skeptical about Dalton's in tensions.

"I saw how busy you were and how you missed the baking powder and I knew that I shouldn't bother you but you had me bake them anyway so I had to do something. What kind of guy would I be if didn't look at for someone I liked?" Dalton said simply and winked at Cole before returning to the dish washer station.

Did he just wink at me? Cole thought. Is he trying to flirt with me? Nice try, buddy. You're cute but I still don't like you.

I must admit that wink was kind of cute......maybe a little, just a little...sexy.
