The Feral Bunnies

I had just realised that Aidan ran like the supernatural. Which left me, the slowpoke, at the back. Keith was flying ahead of us in his falcon form, diving and swooping. We arrived in a beautiful meadow filled with all the flowers men can name. Lilacs, daisies, roses, poppies, sunflowers, and so much more! But, what captured my heart the most were the cute, fluffy bunnies in the middle of the beautiful scene, eating grass.

That was, until they spotted us. Almost immediately, they formed a circle around the young and the old and started to growl at us. I mean, what kind of bunnies growl? Aidan grabbed me and shoved me behind him while I asked, "What's wrong?"

He replied, "You don't know what these are?!" I shook my head. "These are man-eating rabbits!" What?! Man eating rabbits?! What's happening to me? Am I hallucinating?

Keith shook his head. "No, these are real Amber. You might not want to believe it, but they are."

Shocked that he knew what I was thinking, I asked him, "Do you read minds? Cause if you don't, how did you know what I was thinking?"

"I am a mind-reader. I ju-just don't like it so I block out other's thoughts most of the time. I just... let that one slip." I believed him. Besides, why would he want to trick me anyway?

At that moment, all the bunnies growled at the same time, bringing us back to reality. Don't laugh, but they were so scary! They practically made me jump about 3 feet into the air. Wait a minute... How did I just jump 3 feet into the air? I'll remember to ask Aidan later.

Aidan and Keith ran at the bunnies, Aidan human and Keith a silver wolf. I had to admit, I was scared for the bunnies since they could die, but luckily Aidan and Keith just scared them off in the opposite direction. I just didn't like blood; it freaked me out. After that, it was mainly peaceful while we ran again. When we were halfway across the meadow, I asked Aidan, "Do I have powers? Because I jumped 3 feet into the air back there."

"Good. You realized. Yeah, you do have powers but they slowly develop. So you will have faster, not super speed and stronger strength, and one of the main ones is that you will be able to talk to animals and shoot lighting bolts from your hands. I find the last one very interesting because only about 1 in 1000 Defenders have that power. If you want, I can train you to prepare you and help you." I didn't really know Aidan but I nodded yes anyway because I had a good feeling about it.

"Good. We'll start tomorrow at dawn at the end of the meadow." This made me really excited. I didn't know why but I found that I really liked Aidan, or as the little kids call it, like-liked. Since I never liked anyone that way before, I was clueless about how to act and what to say to him. I just hope this works out alright because I wouldn't want his or my heart broken.
