"Rachel Calwood. Put the gun down and push it away with your leg!" Mac yelled, approaching to the woman.
/.../
"We did it, baby!" Peter whispered to his wife's ear. Giving little kisses all around her face and hugging her tightly back.
"I love you, Peter!" Sarah said. Her tears touched his cheeks.
"And I love you more, Mrs. Taylor!".
The police had finally got Rachel under its control, thanks to Peter's phone call to his friends. Finding the location was only a piece of cake and taking the redhead away was happening after arresting her.
Peter and Sarah went back inside after the incident. They were still in shock. Police confiscated the handgun. Officers asked Peter to come back into the station later with Jim for identification.
"If Jim does recognize her, then the case gets closed. Confessions from Rachel and Michael are only a question of time," that's what they said.
Peter placed her hands around Sarah's waist and walked back inside. Entered, they noticed Jim was up. Probably because of the loud noise outside. He was completely upset of waking up in the empty house.
"Jim, honey," Peter took his shoes off and sat next to the boy on the couch. "Has your little brother up as well?".
The boy shook his head.
"Good. Do you want something to eat?".
"Mommy. Daddy. Why are you crying?" Jim asked, looking his parents' eyes. Sarah picked Leslie carefully up and sat on the other side of Jim.
"Something just went to our eyes, baby. And guess what, it's snowing again," Sarah said, wiping her tears off.
"Really?" the boy asked.
"Yes, but do you want to have breakfast?" the man asked. Jim nodded. "I'll go and get him something. Sarah, stay here. Try to calm down!".
"Did daddy cry?" Jim looked at his mother as soon as Peter had left the room.
"No. Everything is fine. It's just snowing outside and we got wet. It's okay. Everything is okay now," Sarah had a soft smirk on her face.
"I wanna go out..." Jim added.
"Daddy will take you out soon. He wants you to see someone today. But first, we have our breakfast, okay?" Sarah responded. She calmed down while talking to her son.
"Mommy?".
"Yes, sweetheart?".
"I love you!" Jim hugged his mother tightly.
Sarah sighed deeply and took Jim tightly against her body. Feeling how tears started falling down on her cheeks again. This time, it was tears of happiness.
Peter appeared back into the room with cut cake and glass of milk. Gazing his family a little bit away from them, smiling.
He entered and sat back next to Jim.
"I'll help you to eat," he said, placing the food on the tv table. "Sarah, there's more of porridge and coffee in the kitchen. When I'm done feeding him, I'll come and join you,".
"I just want to stay here for a sec," Sarah mumbled, wiping her tears again.
"Of course!" Peter said, stroking her hair gently.
After few months of being at home, Jim still didn't know how to use knives or any of these tools. He knew how to hold them in hand but using was complicated.
Peter continued feeding him until most of the cake was eaten and glass was empty. Wiped his mouth and kissed his forehead.
"Very good!" he praised.
Sarah placed sleeping Leslie on the couch, took the plate and glass and left into the kitchen. Peter followed him a few minutes later.
"It's going to be difficult for him to see Rachel," Peter sat behind the table.
"Is it necessary to go there?".
"Please, Sarah. If he recognizes her, Rachel and Michael will be put into the prison. Finally. You also want that, right?".
"You are right. For our own good,".
"I know, Sarah. I don't want to see her as well after today but I would enjoy seeing her suffer like this...".
"How did you even know she was here? What were you, two, talking about before I arrived?".
"She called me. Confessed it was because I hurt her feelings,".
"You mean like... Revenge?".
"I guess so,".
"I actually feel bad for her,".
"What? Why? She has hurt our family,".
"That's because you left her. Without a penny and care,".
"She's sick, okay? Sick. Crazy. Whatever we could call her,".
Sarah shrugs her shoulders and continued her meal. When they finished their breakfast, Peter started changing clothes to proper ones. The woman heard little Leslie's crying so she just left the dishes in the sink and went to get the baby.
"Leaving so soon?" she asked.
"Yeah... We'll be back soon" Peter nodded, looking for better clothes for Jim to wear.
"Daddy. Where are we going?" Jim asked.
Sarah looked at Peter, saying nothing.
"I need you today to see someone," the man answered. "And then we aren't going anywhere you don't want to go,".
Jim seemed confused but the less he knew, the more he agreed to go with his dad. His father picked up some toys and gave them to the boy. Placed Jim into the wheelchair and waved at his wife one more time. Turned the chair towards a door and pushed it outside.
He helped the boy to get into the car and put the wheelchair in car luggage compartment. Started the engine and didn't stop before he parked in front of the station a few hours later.
"So," Peter coughed. "I need us to go inside of that house. And I want you to recollect all the memories of the person we are going to see now, okay?". The boy nodded.
Peter stepped out of the car and helped the boy sit into wheelchair again. Locked the doors from remote of a car and pushed the chair inside the building. In a corridor, they met man's employer - Valeri Ozinovzka.
"Sir..." Peter stopped.
"Mr. Taylor! I heard what happened," Valeri said.
"We were asked to see Rachel today," Peter responded.
"I know. Mac and Joe are waiting for you in an interrogation room," Valeri nodded. Peter tried to pass him with a wheelchair but Mr. Ozinovzka stopped him, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Peter? I'm sorry for the last conversation we had last time. To be honest, I'm glad that a man like you works in our prefecture. I hope everything goes well and your son gets better,".
"Um,". "Thanks, Mr. Ozinovzka. I worry Jim stays in a wheelchair but all I want is to see the bad guys in prison and I really want to come back to work soon,".
Valeri smiled, patted Peter's shoulder. Peter continued his walk until he stopped at the door. Knocked until Joe opened it.
"Hi, Peter. Please, come in," he said.
Peter and Jim entered the room.
"Hey, Jim," Rachel grinned looking at the boy. She was put sitting behind the table, hands still in handcuffs.
Jim looked at the lady and startled.
"Daddy?".
"Yes, sweetie?".
"She's the bad guy!".
Rachel laughed like the devil herself.
"I know it..." Peter stared at her with rage.
