"Please now, Sarah, explain me what's going on here," Peter was confused.

"It was Thomas. And there's something I got to know,".

"Well?".

"Thomas and Rachel. Your little Rachel. They dated last year. It is surprising but it's no longer a secret," Sarah continued.

"Repeat yourself, please," Peter thought he heard right but still wanted Sarah to confirm it.

"Thomas and Rachel. My brother and your ex-wife," Sarah nodded.

"Okay, then I heard you right. Go on," Peter asked.

"They met at the fair. Rachel was there also, as an employer..." she continued.

"Rachel as an employer?" Peter laughed.

"Listen to me, Peter. They met, they talked and it was practically it. Dated a couple of months until she became annoying. Ruined his meetings and all,".

"Just like she did to me," he said.

"Yup. And then he dumped her,".

"But why him? Why your brother and my ex-wife. Doesn't it sound strange?" Peter sighed and sat next to Sarah.

"What do you mean? Thomas was the one that came to talk to her then,".

"What if it wasn't just like that. Maybe Rachel knew that Thomas could come to talk to her. Maybe she followed him and made herself visible on purpose,".

"Come on, Peter. That's lame. My brother looks good and so does she. They would be a great couple but their personalities don't fit. Thomas discovered that at right time,".

"No, this is strange. Really. I got to see Thomas. Today. Alone," Peter shook his head.

"Really? Just because of this?" Sarah laughed.

"Of course. Thomas knows now that Rachel is a piece of shit. He wants to see her in the prison. Maybe something else important comes up in his mind and confess everything he knows about her. We could use his statements against her," Peter nodded.

Sarah took his hands and squeezed them tightly.

"Okay, fine. Do what you gotta do but be careful. She still could be there. Keeping eye on him. She probably will get to know that we know about her and Thomas,".

"I am. I have to go before it gets dark outside. We can't lose any more time. We have lost already so much time. 6 years and so," Peter kissed his wife tenderly on the lips.

Peter started packing to visit Thomas before it gets dark outside. The conversation between them could be last for hours and besides, Peter hated driving in the dark. He was scared of these alcoholics and animals jumping on the road in the middle of nowhere.

"Chicago, here I come. Again," Peter kissed his wife and left home. Started the engine and began driving to the city.

It took a couple of hours to get there. Parked the car in front of the apartment and walked in.

Peter walked to knock on the door with calmness this time. He wasn't irritated or upset. There was nothing he could have to accuse Thomas.

Thomas opened the door.

"Peter, it's you again. Are you here to beat me up again?" he laughed.

"No, no. Please, I need to talk to you. About Rachel. Firstly, let me in quickly. Before someone sees me,".

"What do you mean?" Thomas frowned.

"Doesn't matter. Please do,".

Thomas invited Peter in.

"Why are you here? I guess not for a cup of coffee,".

"What? No. I'm here because you said you dated Rachel,".

"Oh, her," Thomas sighed. "Please, sit,".

Peter sat on the couch where he made him sit last time. Blood flowing out of Thomas's nose.

"What do you wanna hear?" Thomas asked arms crossed on his chest.

"Rachel. Your relationship with her. Did she follow you? Like before you met. Has she confessed it?" Peter felt as a police officer at work. Listening to criminals that were ready to confess their murder. Although, Thomas was pure.

"What? Peter," Thomas laughed. "Although, she knew where I lived,".

"You mean like she knew before you lived before you two dated?".

"Well... Yeah. That's normal, you know. She was an employee when I met her. Rachel justified it as background search. She had to know my past before she thought of hiring me. Everyone does that. You should know - there are many companies that search people all over the internet. Even asking their criminal register that you can ask from the police,".

"She? Sought the clear past. And now she is wanted by the police of kidnapping a child,".

"But did she follow after your breakup?".

"Why is that even important, Peter? I don't get it,".

"Hmm... If police find her, she may hire a lawyer. Lawyers protect their client or are trying to shorten imprisonment. If we could convince a court of her being ill, she may get a long-long punishment. After getting free from the prison, the psychiatric clinic takes her as a patient. So, there is a chance she may not get her freedom so easily,".

"Riiiiight... She is crazy. Followed me everywhere I went to," Thomas nodded.

He realized every sentence he said, was important. Peter was an officer who knew that kind of laws.

"Is she still following you?" Peter asked.

"No. Not anymore. Good for me,".

"Thanks. I really appreciated your confession,". Peter wanted to shake Thomas's hand for thanking but he didn't answer him the same way.

"I still remember last time you visited me," Thomas chuckled.

"Right... Thanks. I should get going,".

Thomas guided Peter outside and said goodbyes.

"Oh, it's getting dark..." Peter mumbled.

He sat into his car and started the engine. Thought of reversing machine out of the parking lot, he didn't see that same woman, who almost lost her life under Peter's car last time.

"It's you again. I'm so sorry. I didn't see you,".

"That's okay," Woman's voice sounded familiar to Peter but same quickly he forgot it. There was no chance of meeting someone he knew in 2,7 mil. people.
