Matapos maghapunan agad na umalis si May sa kanyang condo at pinuntahan si Matty sa venue nito. Naka
simpleng damit lang si May ng pumasok. Hindi niya kasi alam kung ano ang occasion ngayon ni Matty. When he saw
Matty, she was bit taken. Naka pormal ang bestfriend niya, parang may business meeting siya. Kaya naman kinabahan
si May, agad siyang lumapit sa table ni Matty. Hindi niya napansin na parang romantic ang aura ng place.

Matty was so astonioshed when he saw May. Masayang masaya siya ng dumating si May.

“Matty, why you did not
inform me? May business meeting k aba sana nagdamit manlang ako ng maganda” napakamot pa sa ulo si May. Saka
siya umupo sa harap ni Matty. “it’s okay, you still look so beautiful tonight.”

“haha binobola mo ba ako? Excuse me, bibili lang ako ng pormal na damit sa kabilang mall. Baka Mamaya makita
pa ako ng business partner mo. Wait for me just a sec.”

Agad naman nabigla si Matty, pinigilan niyang umalis si May. “May don’t go, actually this isn’t a business meeting.”

Na curious si May sa kanya, “so what is the meaning of this?” like the old times. Raising her eyebrows. It was her
habit. “I wont beat around the bush, im proposing to you… will you marry me May?”
Hold on a second. Did he said it right? Tama baa ng narinig ni May. Matty is proposing to her. Not as a girlfriend,
he wanted to marry her. She paused trying to understand the situation. Napansin na nga rin niya ang mga flowers, pati
ang kanilang lugar. Walang tao sila lang at ang crew ng fine dinning. Hindi maka sagot si May. para siyang napipi.

Matty looks to her with frustrations. But he denied it. she knows how he feels. “it’s okay, maghihintay ako kahit
paulit ulit pa kitang gagawan ni proposal. I know it’s hard for you. And youre still tied to your past.”
“I am sorry Matty, I just cant.” Yung lang wala ng siyang masabi sa kanya
“I know, but to tell you the truth we are all old enough now. So try to move on kahit papaano May. Kahit na gaano
pa kalaki ang patience ko nauubos din. Just forget about him, hindi na siya babalik.”
“its not about him Matty” padabog nitong sinabi “kahit anong sabihin mong siya ang dahilan, you know what I
felt! Hindi ko kayang saktan ka kapag sinabi ko na YES. I know what I want and what I don’t. you cant force me in
marriage Matty. And this is my decision. I cant say yes to you half-heartedly.” Kaya naman tumayo na siya sa kanyang
upuan at naglakad palabas. Galit siya sa accusations ni Matty.

Napa isip din si Matty sa mga sinabi nito. Kaya naman hinabol niya si May at humingi ng patawad. He was overly
reacting because once again May turned him down. Ng makalabas na siya ng building, hindi na niya inabutan si May.

naka sakay na siya sa taxi. Naisipan niyang habulin si May gamit ang sarili nitong sasakyan. He knows where she lives.
At doon nga siya pupunta.
Ng dumating na siya sa condominium. Agad niyang pinasok ang elevator at pumunta sa unit ni May. No matter
what it takes, he can’t resist May. his heart still beats for her. She owns his thoughts. He can’t live without her. He might
kill himself he hurts her feelings. For him she was the most precious thing in his life that he can’t have. He made a
mistake once and he can’t do that again. He doesn’t want to lose her.

He pushed the button and then again May answered her door. She let him in. she knows he was sorry for being a
a**hole again. He loves Matty but not in that romantic way. For her he was just a bestfriend and loyal friend. A
trustworthy friend who would be there for the rest of her life. He could take care of her, but she doesn’t want him to
be tied to her. She wants his freedom. But not with her.

“I am so sorry May, I know I should have not pressured you. I was so stupid that I have let my own feelings ruin
me. I should have taken it nicely…”

She sits on her counter table in the kitchen watching Matty’s expressions. “I know, and I know that you would act
like that. And hindi ka pa naghapunan sa kaka prepare ng proposal mo. I know, just sit comfortably and eat. I have
prepared your dinner. This is home made and I know you will like it.”

Nakita nitong, gutom na gutom na si Matty. He must have been waiting the whole night prepairing his proposal.
And he didn’t even bother eating. He is slurping and devouring the lasagna. Wala na yung mother and father ni May
kaya naman mag isa nalang siya sa condo niya kasama ang mga alaga nitong aso. She was surprise how big his appetite
he almost finished the two trays of lasagna. He only stopped when he felt nauseas. Niluwagan din ni Matt yang kanyang
neck tie para makahinga siya ng maluwag. And there he is halos hindi na siya makagalaw sa kina uupuan niya.

“youre still mad at me May?” looking to her like a cute puppy. Ganyan ka cute si Matty kapag he felt troubled . she
just replied him a nope. And she went in her living room to watch a t.v. sinundan din siya ni Matty. Umupo rin siya sa
tabi nito. She eyed him, parang naiirita ito. Matty looks to her smilling. “you know what Matty, you go home now. Its
late” while rooling her eyes to him. But Matty insisted to stay. “I want to stay here with you”
Tumayo si may na umaapaw ang kanyang pagkainis. At pinalo ng unan si Matty. “you go away now! At hindi ko
na matiis ang pang iinis mo sa akin. I need a space and a private time. And this house is my only private place. Ayokong
ma stress sayo Matty. So go home…”

“hindi naman kita pinapakialaman tahimik lang ako. I’ll just stay here I wont bother you. I cant go home its late
too and besides I cant drive my car at night its so blur and dark I cant see anything”
“sh*t Matty, kailangan pa ba nating pag awayan to? Puro ka nalang kasinungalingan. You know I cant trust a
single guy staying here at my place. And besides may gusto ka sa akin who knows baka samahan mo pa ako sa pagtulog
ko. And ayokong mag karoon ng commitment… and-“

“you really had a bad thoughts, as in ang dami dami mong bad thoughts. Sa tagal na nating mag bestfriend. I never
really did a thing on you. I never kissed you or made a move on you. if you really don’t trust me that much I will just
sleep here on your couch and just lock your door just in case.”

“oh shut up youre making too much excuses right now Matty. I am going to call your personal driver right now if
you still insist…”

Kaya naman natalo na si Matty at tumayo na siya. After na tawagan ni May and driver nito agad na sinundo
si Matty sa kanyang condo. She bids goodbye to Matty after that.
