Chapter 14

Jeany's POV

I felt bad. I accidentally made Jay cry. I don't know what I did?

We drove to their house in quietness.

When we got there, Zach picked me up and I sat on his shoulders. Jay grabbed my little amount of things and they took me inside.

There were people there!

"Zach, who are these people?"

"These are my friends Jeany. Meet Hope, Marie, Dustin, Justin, and it looks like Haley's here too."

"Hi," I said shyly. They were scary people! They had tattoos, and earrings in their noses and lots of rings in their ears.

"Hi, I'm Marie. What's your name cutie?" One of the girls asked me.

"Jeany."

"That's such a pretty name! This is my sister Hope. This is my boyfriend Dustin, and his brother Justin."

"What about me? Gosh!" A lady said jokingly.

"Oh yeah, sorry, this is Haley."

"Hi," Haley said, "I'm Jay's boss. And friend."

I smiled at her. She was pretty. She didn't have any tattoos or body earrings.

"Let's get you to your room Jeany," Zach said. We walked my upstairs. Hope followed us.

We walked down the hall. After passing a few doors, we came to a small room.

It had a bed, a desk, and a mirror with a vanity. One window was on the farthest wall letting in light.

The room was a cream color. Yuck! I wish it was pink!

"Do you like it?" Hope asked.

"It needs more pink!"

She laughed. "We can take you shopping for pink things Saturday."

"Yay!" I said.

She giggled and walked away leaving me and Zach.

I sat on my bed. It was soft.

My brother came and sat at the end of the bed.

"I missed you so much Jeany!"

"I missed you too. Are you going to lock the door on me tonight?"

He looked sad and gave me a hug. "Of course not. I love you Jeany."

"I love you too!"

"What do you think of England so far?"

"It's cold."

He laughed. "Yes, it is cold isn't it."

I nodded my head. "I'm sleepy."

"It's called jet lag. If you go to bed now, you'll be up all night."

"But I'm tired!"

"I know, but you can't go to bed."

I frowned.

"Let's go downstairs."

"Fine."

He picked me up and carried me downstairs.

We sat down on the couch and surrounding chairs.

Jay made pasta. We ate dinner and I told them I wanted to go to bed.

"It's not even eight yet," Jay said.

I frowned.

Haley went into the kitchen and brought me something to drink.

"Here you go, have some tea. This should wake you up."

"Thank you," I said and drank it. It was so yummy!

I heard barking. Dustin went somewhere and doggies came running in. They were so cute!

"Hi there little puppies!" I said petting them.

"This is my dog, Ziggy," Hope said petting the husky.

Marie pet the Pomsky. "This is Winnie."

"Maximus is my German Shepard," Justin said.

Dustin walked into the room with a Golden Retriever at his heels. "This is Goldie."

"They're so cute!" I said again.

"I think Winnie likes you," Marie said smiling.

It was true, she laid down on my lap and snuggled up to me as the other dogs sniffed me.

I pet all of them. I love dogs! I used to play with Jay's all the time before momma started drinking.

The dogs ran off, except for Winnie who was still on my lap.

Soon it was my bed time. The "scary" people ended up being really nice and fun.

The girls were taking me shopping tomorrow, which was Saturday.

Marie said that Winnie could sleep with me tonight.

Jay gave me one of her t-shirts to wear to bed. It was really big on me.

I crawled into my bed. Winnie laid down beside me.

Zach came in to tuck me in and tell me goodnight.

So did Jay. I wish Haley would've, but Jay said she didn't live here.

I fell asleep quickly.
