Can I just quickly say how much I enjoy writing this? Thank you everyone for sticking with me! (Unedited, but enjoy!)Two months later, last week of finals. June 3rd...
Finals.
They were tearing Killian and Emma apart.
Sure they lived together, but then they weren't studying, in class, or taking an exam, they were working to pay the rent of their apartment.
They lived together and yet they hardly ever saw each other.
It'd been going on for two weeks and there was still one to go, but already, it was evident their separation was taking a toll on them.
The brief moment they caught each other in the halls was almost painful. Because it couldn't last.
They didn't even see each other in class anymore as exams had changed everything.
Killian sat in the campus library, cramming more information in his head for his last exam of the day.
And then he'd have to go to work. He didn't know how he'd tell Emma he had a late shift. The one thing they still had was seeing each other at night even if they were both exhausted.
Come on, Killian, you know this... he thought to himself as he struggled over a stupid essay question.
All he wanted was to just have a lazy day with his girlfriend. To stay home and hold her. Love her. Kiss her.
Liam and Ari were worried for the two. When they'd told them Ari was pregnant the week before, they were hardly able to express their enthusiasm because of how miserable they were.
"Brother, you just have to push through. It'll be over soon, I promise," Liam assured Killian over the phone.
Killian yawned, trying to multitask between his brother and his work.
"I hope so, brother. I should go, exam begins in a few..."
"Keep me posted. Say hi to Em for me," Liam said with a sigh. "Oh and mum says to bring your laundry with you when you visit after school ends," Liam laughed, hanging up.
Killian sighed, running his hands through his thick hair.
Wishing it was Emma doing it.
And then it was.
"Swan," Killian breathed. He whipped around to find her behind him with tears in her eyes and a smile.
He pulled her tightly into his arms, clinging to her for dear life. She tucked her head into the crook of his neck, nearly sobbing in relief.
"I've missed you so much," Emma managed shakily, holding him tightly.
"I know, I know I've missed you too, Swan," he mumbled, staring st the ceiling as a tear slipped down his cheek.
"God I can't wait to just cuddle with you tonight. Thank goodness we end exams at the same time today," Emma mumbled into his chest.
Killian closed his eyes and his tears fell.
"I can't," he whispered. "I've got a late shift at the docks."
