Honestly the whole fucking "checklist" of Mary-sue traits pisses me off
I have an oc which I have tried so hard to make actually decent only to have him be called a Gary-stu for very minor traits he has
Example
- mutilated face
No not in the way you're thinking, he literally had a giant fucking burn scar from a fire HE started.
- bullying
Yes it's cliche but it's not actually a main part of his story, it's mentioned that he's bullied for "talking to himself" (he's schizophrenic and talks to voices/hallucinations) he didn't "snap" and kill his bullies at any point
- Different coloured eyes
His eye is fuckef up bc literally half his face got burnt the fuck up, it's not like heterochromia fucking look up eye burns/burnt eyes
I'm going to stop there but not all Mary Sue traits are bad as long as they're done in a way that makes sense and is creative??
But honestly I'm just pissed and insecure now ughh
