Hello, it's been a few months but I'm back.
A while ago I did a rant about the so-called "canon personalities" of creepypastas and I decided I wanted to add onto that.
Most creepypastas don't have canon personalities as they were originally just supposed to be stories with the intended purpose of scaring people. So technically they don't have canon personalities unless there's any shown through stories. Though they've gone through so much change in the fandom that even that doesn't seem to be a representation of their personalities.
So you should be able to portray them how you wish, though preferably more realistically than most do. Jeff most likely wouldn't be a romantic, soft, gentle guy. And Eyeless Jack probably wouldn't be a shy, sensitive guy. But if that's how you want to portray them go ahead I guess.
Now here's where I get into why I said "most" previously. There's an exception to the "there are no canon personalities" argument, and that is OCs. OCs such as Ticci Toby were originally designed as a character of the creator, most likely not created to be so popular. Most OCs are given a set personality, though in Ticci Toby's case it was completely disregarded and sadly caused Kastoway to leave the fandom.
So in conclusion OCs are technically the only creepypasta characters who actually have "canon personalities"
