I'm about to tell you my biggest secret. It's what got me killed in the first place, and it begins in the middle of the night 3 or 4 weeks ago, depending on how long it's taken for you to read this. If I'm correct, homecoming is coming up and you'll have to go to that, if you haven't talked to Chase or Fiona yet, you lazy ass. You have to go to the Turkey Hill again. Sorry, not sorry.
I sighed and messaged Cam, Fiona and Chase, excluding Victoria, who probably didn't care. I told them to meet me at the alleyway, and took off, crawling through my window so I could avoid my parents. I parked my bike next to the Turkey Hill, and met my "friends", who were standing in a circle awkwardly. Their eyes were staring at my hands, where the notebook was. "That's it?" Chase said, raising an eyebrow. "That's the notebook?" Fiona stepped close to me. "How do we know it's real?" she questioned, crossing her arms. "I think I'd recognize my best friend's handwriting, thank you very much." I snapped. Fiona shrunk away from me. "Do you want to know what happened?" I asked the group, who all nodded in agreement. Clearing my throat, I read.
Chase, I'm sorry, but this is mainly your fault. Chase had football practice, and we both had stuff to pick up from our dealer, and myself, being a nice person decided to run and go get it for him. That was my first mistake. I should've stayed home that night, annoyed Everly or something, something else than that. I would still be here. Laughing, smiling, having fun. Not dead.
Anyway, I stood there, where you are now and waited. And while I waited, it happened. The event that would lead me to execute my plan.
Let's sum it up.
Gunshot, screams, dead person.
All done by a person I thought I trusted.
"Which is who?" Cam blurted out, and he was quickly by Fiona. "It's getting good." She said in a hushed tone. I glanced down at the notebook. "It's crossed out." I said quietly. "Like intentionally." "Maybe Liz did it?" Cam suggested. I shrugged, and continued on.
_____. I had trusted them, and they had failed me. And then he saw me. He saw me and I knew I was done for. I mean, he had just murdered someone in cold blood, and I had seen it unfold in front of me. '"It's no fun to spy little lady." He had yelled after me as I sprinted away, scared for my life. Getting home alive was the utmost priority.
I'm sorry.
I should've told someone, but I didn't, and I'm sorry
"What're you doing out here?" A familiar voice asked, sticking his head out of his car. Sheriff Glean. "We're doing a psyche project." Cam said. "On the effects of isolation." Fiona added, and I was surprised to see her lying. "Well just be careful. There was a shooting here about 3 weeks ago, so please be safe." Slowly, as if hesitantly, he drive off, leaving us alone. "Chase?" "Hmm?" He asked, turning to face him. "The game is tomorrow, shouldn't you go to practice?" Chase turned red. "Yeah, I should go... I'll see you later?" He ran out of the alleyway and toward his car, leaving us with just 3.
The next day, I went to school, feeling scared out of my mind. Please note that this was only like a week before I died, which is why Fiona, I seemed so frazzled at the library. I had to the make a plan of action- fast. Sorry about that. Max, Cam, I'm sorry for being so distant. I was scared that he would hunt you down too, if he knew we were close. And Max, I'm sorry about that fight we had in the bathroom, about-
I paused. She actually wrote it, and now all of the memories were flooding back to me. "About what?" Fiona questioned, and Cam looked down. He knew. He knew the reason I didn't want to go to homecoming. It brought back way too many memories about us and what happened that night.
About us, and what our relationship meant
"It's my turn to share some secrets."
