Avril's POV ♥
"Complicated" 2 of 4
As I drive down the street, I feel guilty because the look on his face was too unbearable, so I had to go. And thus the kiss; the way he was so needy like he didn't want to lose me. He's so confusing. Why does he have to be so complicated? So i decided to go to the only place I can think of and no it's not any kind of gossip girls or anything it's my one and true guy friend, Toby. Yes I'm a tomboy, but I like guys okay? I just find it easier to talk with guys, and Toby gives good advice to me so maybe he could help me with this situation. As I arrived in Toby's driveway, I began sending him a text message that I'm here, and suddenly Jason's picture comes up on my phone, but I can't talk to him right now, so I just ignored the call. I continued sending my text to Toby.
Me : hey tobs! what's up? ☺
Toby : oh hey you! nothin' much just home. what about you?
Me : that's wicked! i'm sitting in hopeless my car.. -sighs-
Toby : oh? why, where are you? do u need a ride? :o
Me : lol nah, jk. i'm outside your house look out your blinds man! xD
Toby : Avril you sneaky girl!! ;-;
After we texted a few minutes Toby came outside in his plain white tee, black jeans, and socks, and then he wipes off his forehead, and he then stands by my window smirking, crossing his arms. He's probably wondering what I'm doing here, but I'm sure he won't mind though; I just smiled and waved then stuck my tounge out after he made a funny face. On the looks of it I know what he's about to do, he's about to open my door, so I try to pull it close, but he's too strong for me of course, thus he yanked me out and throws me over my shoulder. It's actually feels quite comfy up here, he's pretty built for a medium sized guy, but he's fun sized. Sshh. I'd never tell him that.
Toby has short black hair, and eye brows, a pair of eyes that were low set and a amazing blue, deep like the sea, a medium build, kind of more manly look than his actual age. Under his fair skin, he had parts that were golden, he had sort of a rosy skin tone too, like on his cheeks, which was so cute to me. Followed by a had a slight cut above his mouth, and a small curve to his lips, as if there were something terribly funny only he knew the answer to. It was that brief, wicked glance I caught that said maybe he had been in a fight, but he knew what it looked like; and he liked that, the hint of danger. That made him seem more like something he wasn't.
What really made Toby even more attractive, was his slight shown or shadow of a beard, like stubble I love when guys have stubble, it makes them look like men not boys. Made him look more mysterious. Unlike Jason who now looks like every other guy or boy is what they should be called.
"Toby! Put me down! Do you have to do this all the time?" I say in a joking matter but sounding serious.
"Hmm, let me guess? Maybe and yes!" He cackled loudly but he still put me down and I punch him just for fun.
"Jeez! Has anyone ever told you you're like a freaking Hulk?" I say sarcatically. "But like a little version of his son."
"Ha ha very funny but no just you actually." he says poking my nose.
"Aww okay, but I'm not here to laugh and joke, I'm here for a serious matter."
"Oh, well I'm all ears, by the way you're so cute when you try to sound all "Serious." he used air quotes.
"Ugh! Can you not? Stop kidding around and let's go inside it's blazing out here." I said pushing him inside.
The house is empty inside and emaculate, because usually Toby has over his other guy friends who never clean up, unbeknownst to me I had no idea he cleaned up this much. Good old Tobs to get the job done, otherwise his roommate wouldn't pick up a thing, or it'd be filled with smells and trash. So Toby is my long time friend, but we never dated, don't why I never did though; toby was the loner type, he kept to himself and didn't follow the in crowd.
We've been friends since freshmen year, never thought of him as a boyfriend, just a really loyal friend. We'd always catch each other's glances but that never really turned into much, I guess he was too cool to ask me out, then that's where Jason came in. And you know the rest. Now I'm here trying to vent and get some advice on what I should do and so forth. Me and Toby would always sit and chat about any and everything, so this should be simple. What we usually do is he sits down on the corner of the couch, and I lay my head on his leg as if he's a psychatrist in a way, so we sit settle down and begin our session.
"Okay, Ms. Lavigne, what seems to be your dilema this week?" he says putting his arms behind his head.
"Well, you see Dr. Matthews, my boyfriend hasn't been giving me any attention and when he does he wants to smooth it over with a kiss and thinks that will fix things." I explained sighing.
"Hmm, is this fellow a good kisser?" He said and I glance up at him as he's glancing down.
"Be serious Toby! This is really hard for me, can you please help me by giving constructive evaluations?"
"Alright fine, let's see here, maybe he's secretly shy and can't tell you how he feels."
"Really Tobs? That's all you got! Not good enough. We're a couple and if he would I'd be patient enough to talk things out with him in whatever he wants to tell me." I explained now my voice breaking. "He shouldn't just ignore me all the time."
"Oh, someone needs a hug, come here."
Before I knew it Toby had managed to craddle me in his arms; they're so warm. I hugged him back feeling so wanted for once in awhile. Wait, what am I doing? I can't be falling for my best guy friend. Toby is such a sweet guy but I don't want to ruin our friendship yet he's so caring and here for me right now. He just craddles me like a baby and wipes my tears away and holds me tight and I just lay my head on his shoulder, then suddenly my phone buzzes. I figured it's Jason so I reach to grab my phone on the table but Toby holds me back by putting his arm around me. This is surprising.
"Toby hold on, I have to take this." I looked at him stunned.
"C'mon, Avril, you don't need to answer that." he says sure of himself.
"Huh? But it might be Jason, I-I have--" I began to say but he put him hand over my mouth.
"Please don't speak, I need to share something with you; it's very important."
I gently removed him hand to speak anyway and he looks at me like lost puppy.
"Toby, sweetie this phone call might be important."
As I began to reach for my phone again and Toby puts his feet purposely on the table scooting over my phone. I looked at him now annoyed but then I get lost in his eyes. How cheesy does that sound? He was looking at me in a way I've been wanting to be looked at and from the looks of him, I think he wanted to kiss me. What am I to do? I can't let him kiss me, or can I?
