Ocean Bound[ON HOLD]

Surprise Attack! Juuuust Kidding.

Going back to boring old school was hard, I knew it before I had barely gotten out of bed. Lazilly, I pulled on a t-shirt and my nike running shorts over my swimsuit that I never took off. I threw my black hair into a low ponytail so that it spilled over my shoulders and back like a black fountain. With a small touch of makeup I dragged myself down the steps to find a vacant first floor and a note taped on the door with my mother's delicate handwriting.

Selena-

Went to work early, something came up. Hope to see you later tonight.

Love Mom.

I smiled at the note that didn't really mean much and walked out the door with a Luna bar in hand. I reached the end of my driveway only to see someone standing across the street, leaning up against a car. I squinted and recognized Lucas. He stood up straighter and walked towards me. "Hey Sel."

"Hi?" I replied not quite sure as to why he was outside of my house.

"I was just on my way to school thought I would give you a ride if you were up for it?" Lucas smirked.

"Uh, sure, why not." I strolled to the passenger door and like a gentleman Lucas opened the door for me.

"Happy birthday, by the way. Sorry I'm a little late." He glanced at me with his gorgeous blue eyes. "I was thinking I could make it up to you."

"Oh really. How?"

"I treat you to dinner." He smirked at me. My eyes widened in surprise. Since when did Lucas, the most wanted boy in school, take a liking to me. This must be joke. Say no, Selena. I told myself. You don't need any distractions right now.

"I'd like that." I replied, going against my consious who was arguing with my choice in the back of my head. I took me a second to realize that I wasactually going to go on a date with Lucas. I silently screamed in happiness. He got out of the car and opened the door for me. He took my hand in his and we walked into school together. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Michelle raising an eyebrow at me and Caitlin chuckling to herself. I shrugged and walked into the school.

The day seemed to drag by and I became frustrated. I was way to excited for tonight. I was probably just overreacting. When seventh hour rolled by I was practically having a breakdown. The teacher lectured on andon about what each and every organ in the body does. I tapped my foot on the ground . And my lab partner was fiddling with her water bottle as she tried to open the cap which made me tap my foot on the ground faster. Then the worst thing happened. I saw it almost like it was in slow motion. The water bottle finally opened and the girl knocked it over. The water spilled all over my lap and I went into panich mode.

"Oh my god, I'm so-" Before the girl could finish her apology I sprinted out the door and opened a door that ended up to be the janitor's closet. Just as the door shut I fell to the floor, and my shimmering tail hit the door with a bang.

"Ow. God dammit." I yelled in pain. I rolled over and sighed in frustration. Then I heard someone calling my name. Caitlin.

"Selena! Selena! Where are you?" Her cries echoed in the hallway and her footsteps came closer. She knocked. "Sel, are you in there." I panicked.

"Caitlin don't come in. I'm okay." I told her sternly. I heard the twist of the lock and the door being yanked open. I pulled her in and shut the door quickly. Her eyes landed on my tail and she started hypervenilating. "You're a- you're a-"

"Shh!" I hushed her. I held my hand above my tail and steamed the water off until my slender legs retured. I stood up slowly as Caitlin backed away from me. She bumped into the back wall and flinched as I blocked the door.
