(a/n - hello hello i am back my friends

Today was Colby's 21st birthday. Yesterday had been a day of sleep and throwing up for the whole house. Not that that wasn't normal, it was. However, due to the fact that yesterday was my birthday, Colby insisted that we celebrate today as if it was my birthday as well.

7:30am. That was the unholy time I was woken up, Corey and Sam shaking me violently and putting fingers to their mouths to signal for me to be quiet. I frowned in confusion but nodded, climbing out of bed and following the two boys inside the house and up the stairs. Sam turned his camera on when we reached the kitchen.

"Gooood morning, guys!" he shout-whispered to the camera. "It's Colby's birthday today, and he's actually at home for once, so we decided to surprise him a little bit." Sam giggled.

"We're gonna give him 21 birthday punches!" Corey exclaimed, fake-punching the air. I laughed.

"No, no, we're not gonna do that," Sam chuckled. "So, I wanted to actually do something nice, but since you all know I can't do that with everyone in this house, I'm putting a little twist on it." He gave the camera an evil grin, but you could tell how excited he really was. "We're gonna cook Colby some pancakes, and cover his room in it."

My mouth gaped open. "Man, is this why you woke me up this early? I should be sleeping," I whined, stomping my feet jokingly. Corey agreed. Truthfully, I was excited to do this. Mostly for the pancakes. Anyone who knew me knew that A) I'm a great pancake chef, and B) I love pancakes.

Since we were all aware that Colby's schedule didn't start until 10am on a good day, we began our prank as quickly as possible. Corey took out every single Tupperware container we could find in the kitchen, as well as plates, bowls, and dishes. The counter was covered in boxes of pancake mix. Sam explained to me that they had literally cleared our three stores' supplies of pancake mix in order to get the amount that we had. With that, I dug out all the pans I could find and placed them on the five burners the stove-top had, and got started pouring the pre-made batter that Sam was mixing up.

-----

Four hours. That's how long it took us to use up all the pancake mix. The counter was cluttered with dishes stacked high with the delicious patties. I took one off the top of a stack close to me and took a bite, relishing in the airiness. "Rweady ro go do tfhis?" I mumbled through my mouthful.

Sam turned his camera back on and smirked. "Let's go!" Since pancakes are apparently a lot heavier than they seem, I was to hold the camera while the guys brought the cakes up. We entered Colby's room, ensuring he was still fast asleep (which he was). I watched in fits of laughter as the boys layered the room with pancakes. After the fifth trip up, the floor, couch, desk, and all other furniture was thoroughly covered and Sam and Corey began to simply throw the rest of the cakes to scatter over top of the first layer. By 12:26 exactly, we had finished our masterpiece.

Sam took the camera from me and instructed me to wake up the sleeping beauty, who was also covered nearly head to toe in the delicious breakfast. I tip-toed over the mountain of pancakes, mentally crying because of all the heavenly cakes that would be going to waste. I picked up a pancake from beside Colby's face and got intimidatingly close to his face before I raised my arm and... SLAP! The cake smacked his face with a loud smacking sound.

In a flash, Colby bolted up and I burst out laughing. It took him a moment to take in his surroundings. He blinked one, two, three times before his face rested on me, knowing I was at least one of the culprits. "Happy birthday, Colby," I said softly, giggling a little.

"YOU!" he shouted, and I screamed as he bolted up, grabbed me, and began slapping me with a pancake he picked up. I squealed and kicked at him, but to no avail.

"PANCAKE WAR!" Corey screamed in a high-pitched voice, jumping up and down a couple times before he began to throw cakes at us. Our afternoon was spent cleaning up after our mess and also eating from the single plate we left downstairs for breakfast.

-----

It was nearly 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Colby and I were in his room filming a video for his channel. For a little throwback video, Colby had decided to make me react to his old vines, along with his first YouTube video. We finished the outro and turned the camera off before he turned to me.

"What are your plans for tonight?" he asked me. A shy smile etched its way onto his face as his big blues studied my face.

I shrugged. "Spend time with you, I guess," I replied, smiling back at him. My eyes flickered to his smiling lips as I replied to Colby. Did I like him? It was a pretty simple question to answer. Of course I liked him, and I could tell he liked me.

"Let's go out tonight, just us two," Colby voiced. He broke out into an ear-to-ear grin and his electric blues shone with excitement. I nodded in agreement, my own grin growing across my face.

We agreed upon going for dinner and a movie together. I wasn't sure if this was a date or just friends, but I hoped to God that it was a date. I left Colby's room and went down to the garage, grabbing some nice clothes and my makeup and making my way into the bathroom.

I dressed in a pair of light blue jeans and a cream-colored off the shoulder knit sweater. I put on natural makeup, just some concealer and I brushed my eyebrows, as well as brushing on a tiny bit of orange eye shadow on my crease. I decided to wear my glasses, as I would need them for the movie. Colby was ready when I exited the bathroom.

He was dressed normally, with his hair swept over his eyes just enough that he could still see. He wore black ripped jeans and a baby blue pullover with a rose embroidered on the left breast. The sweatshirt looked great on him, and actually brought out his beautiful blues more than usual. Colby smiled his big, white-toothed grin and nodded towards the front door as if he was asking if I was ready to go. I nodded and slipped my jet black Vans onto my small feet before following him out and into his car.

"Where are we going?" I asked as we sped down the street.

Colby giggled. "McDonald's date?" he replied, raising his perfectly sculpted eyebrows and glancing at me.

"Oh, Mr. Brock, you know me so well!" I exclaimed in excitement. He laughed and we sped towards the closest McDonald's, my mind set on a Big Mac with extra pickles and onions.
