I smiled awkwardly. "I swear I'm not like... stalking you or anything," I defended, putting my hands in the air as if I had just been caught breaking the law.

Sam smirked. "Are you sure?" he joked. I could tell he knew I wasn't actually stalking them. He shook his head and chuckled. "What are you doing here, though?"

I explained about how Austin and Maddi ditched me in LA for a date and how I'd been venturing around and ended up sitting down across the street. I also explained that Colby had told me to come inside. Then, I began to think. "How come you guys never tried to contact me? Not that I'm mad – I'm not – but I just found it weird."

Just as I asked, Colby came bounding down the stairs. He stopped when he saw me talking to Sam. Sam turned to him, raising his eyebrows.

"Colby, why don't you tell Agnes why we haven't tried to contact her?" Sam demanded, leaning against the wall as he spoke.

Colby froze and scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Well, like Sam and Corey are both dating—"

"That's not it," Sam interrupted.

Colby groaned nervously, clearly not wanting to tell me the real reason why. "Could we maybe talk in private?" he asked, looking at Sam with pleading eyes. Sam nodded, as did I. Colby took no time to grab my hand and take me up the staircase and into a plain white bedroom. I assumed this was his bedroom.

He sat me down in the desk chair and leaned against the desk. I raised my eyebrows at him expectantly. "Well? Colby I'm not mad, I kind of expected you guys to never wanna speak to me again. I'm just curious."

Colby sighed. "My fans are super protective – which I love – but sometimes they're mean to the girls I hang out with. They call them sluts and threaten them and I just didn't want that to happen to a girl I hung out with once. I know you probably saw the comments on the video anyway, but I figured if I didn't follow you or tag you on any of the posts, you wouldn't get any direct hate." I nodded in understanding. Not that I cared much about what his fans said, it meant a lot to me that he didn't want me to get hurt by that.

"Is that all?" I asked.

He shook his head. "I... didn't want people to think me and you were like, together or anything. Not that that's a bad thing, I just didn't want your boyfriend to get mad."

I gave him a weird look, squinting my eyes. "I don't have a boyfriend?" I said, laughing awkwardly. This was getting weird. He better not turn this into some sort of pick-up line saying I'm too pretty to be single or something. Ew, I thought to myself.

"Who was that guy you texted when you were letting him know you weren't coming home? Austin?" Colby asked, looking really confused.

I bursted out laughing, tumbling to the floor in hysterics. "Austin?!" I gasped out, "That's my brother!"

Colby's eyes widened in horror when he realized he had mistaken Austin for my boyfriend. I didn't even care about the lack of contact anymore; the situation was just too priceless to care about. Colby laughed at the situation too — or maybe he just laughed at my laugh.

"Man, I'm sorry. I totally thought he was your boyfriend or something," Colby covered his face and spoke through his hands. I hadn't noticed before, but nearly every hand had a ring on it. I found his style interesting. It was nice – really nice – but different from most of the more mainstream styles. He didn't flex a lot of name-brand companies but instead wore plain black shirts with holes or shirts that promoted YouTube channels like TFIL. I liked it.

We talked for a while, making jokes and throwing things around and vlogging a bit. I told him about how he and the boys had kind of inspired me to start a vlog channel in the first place. We talked about it a bit, then I suggested something.
