AN: I drew this picture in five minutes. It's Glorfindel with some burn scar stuff.
Lindir continued to tell the tale of the great Shadow Banisher, first to wield Hope Bringer and the first Lord of the House of Air. The actors were performing the dance of the bonded, a dance considered sacred by the Vanyar for the difficulty and the fact it can only be danced by those who are bonded. This dance had always been concise Red the most difficult dance in all of Arda. The dancers performed it perfectly after years of hard practice. The figures in black cloaks with hoods circled the performer that portrayed the warrior.
"What will you give to me to grant their eternal bonding? Will you give to us your heart, soul, mind, body, and strength? Will you give to us unending love and trust?" A hooded figure asked the warrior.
"Yes. I give to you all that you ask of me, my lord." The warrior answered with determination.
"A great light surrounded the warrior, sealing the deal and giving him the blessing of the Valar. Manwë and Mandos both made promises to the Warrior.
'I will do all I can to side you in your journeys. Never shall the winds be against you. In your hour of need, I will give you strength and peace, my friend.' Manwë swore to the Warrior.
'I will grant to you the knowledge to forge a blade that will serve you well til time is all but gone and comfort will I give you when you come to my halls. I will ease your pain and hold you in your last moments. I will not allow darkness to grasp your heart and all elves will find comfort and healing within my Halls.' Mandos swore to the Golden Warrior. Both Valar pledged to come when he called. Being the only elf of all time to secure such an oath, the warrior thanked them and with the knowledge granted to him, he forged the weapons needed to defeat the shadows. A mighty blade of steel and light, blessed by the Valar to protect and being hope to all those that laid eyes upon it and brought with it the spark of hope. Thus the first sword was forged. Seven more blades were crafted, their names long lost to memory. Bows said to have shot lightning bolts were forged at a number of ten bows total. The arrows of steel had a light within them none could describe or recreate. The warriors trained, becoming the masters of the weapons they had chosen. The Shadows trap was closing in, life for the peoples of Middle Earth was improving but at a price that was paid with the blood of the Vanyar. In the land now called Mordor, the 16 found themselves surrounded, forces to fight the never ending tides of shadows or die and let Arda be consumed by darkness.
