Take the Fall

The lights of an old wooden deck, dimly lit up the walk. The subtle glow gives way on a midnight stroll.
The moonshine barely lighting up the never ending ocean.
Sea salt in the light breeze.
The cliffs of Broadchurch call out.
Standing on the edges, tiny patches of grass decorate it.
Its a long way down; a shiver ran down my spine.
My heart pounds against my chest, my breathing heavy.
A single slip would stop everything forever. The hurting, the losing, the everything.
Its a peaceful night, next morning would probably change the course of this small town forever.
I stumbled at the thought, but a stone rolled under my foot.
My balance lost. The ground beneath my feet slipped away in a fraction of a second. The air gushed on my face.
Its an awful long way down, all passed in a blur. But just this once. A one way ticket out of here.
This is exactly what I wanted, wasn't it?
