Dilemma

My breath hitches in my throat tonight,
As this door,
That has been locked away for as long as I can remember,
Clicks open.

I turn upon my heels,
The door that has been left locked,
Unhindered since ages.
Scratches and dents imprint upon its surface.
The door clad in scars,
Clicks open.

A dread creeps up my spine,
Fear wraps itself around me alike a blanket.

There's chaos here,
Chaos that is ever so familiar.
On the other side,
A mystery,
A chase.

The lust for a run,
Drives my heart beats insane.
The belonging in chaos,
Pulls me back.

A dilemma that holds me down,
It's like my whole body is numb.

The door creaks open,
The difference between the two places,
Deathly distinct.

Tears form in my eyes,
My head runs wild,
In circles.

To leave?
Or
To stay?
