After eating a delicious lunch made by Mr.Graves, Credence was told to go take a shower then dress up in some clothes that Mr.Graves was going to give him, because they were going out. He tried multiple times to find out were they were gonna go, but Mr.Graves wouldn't say anything.
So he did as he told him to...he went to the bathroom, undressed himself and let the warm water run down his skin. His finger slid along the already healed wounds on his back and once again, he was astonished by all the magic that surrounded him.
When he was ready with the shower, he wrapped a towel around his waist and used another to dry his hair, when the bathroom door suddenly opened an in entered Mr.Graves with some nicely folded clothes in his hands.
"Just wanted to drop these." said Mr.Graves as he put the clothes on the counter right next to the sink. When he was about to leave, he turned around, looking at Credence's hair and smiled.
"What's wrong?" asked Credence.
"Nothing, I-...I just have an idea." he got closer grabbing the edge of the towel with which Credence was drying his hair. "May I?" Credence nodded, smiling as he sat down on the side of the bathtub.
Mr.Graves positioned himself right in front of Credence, drying his hair very firmly. Credence could smell the beautiful scent off of Mr.Graves. It was like a warm rainy day combined with lavender that made Credence smile.
"Did your mother cut your hair like that." asked Mr.Graves.
"Yes. She wouldn't let it grow longer than this and she never allowed me to grow my beard. She said that all wizards have long hair and beard and that she heard of a myth about wizards who use their own strands of beard for potions that kill people." his smile faded away thinking back to all the times his adoptive mother told him awful things about magic.
"I don't know what kind of myth that is, I never heard of it but I can guarantee you that we don't do that." chuckled Mr.Graves.
"I believe you." responded Credence, smiling again.
As Mr.Graves was rubbing the towel slowly against his hair to dry it, Credence felt something tickle his scalp. It started from the top and spread through his whole head, and eventually, he started laughing as quietly as he could. Mr.Graves didn't seem to be surprised by his odd reaction, and smiled widely instead.
When the tickling faded away, Mr.Graves put the towel away and took a step back to look at Credence. A satisfied smile appeared on his face.
"Take a look." said Mr.Graves grabbing Credence's hand gently and positioned him in front of the mirror.
Credence was amazed. His hair grew past his ears, and now, he didn't have it cut in a straight line right in the middle of his forehead. Now it was equally on both sides and curly. He touched it to make sure it was real and it was so soft and beautiful.
He turned tu face Mr.Graves and wrapped his arms around his neck, being incredibly happy. Mr.Graves responded to the hug by wrapping his arms around Credence's waist and smiling widely at Credence's happiness."Thank you." he whispered in his ear.
"Come on now. We're gonna be late and believe me, you wouldn't want to miss something like this." responded Mr.Graves.
When they broke the hug however, Credence didn't notice in time that his towel that was around his waist started to slip. Fortunately, Mr.Graves was quick enough to catch it right before it could've exposed anything. He was looking right into Credence's eyes and neither of them was saying nor doing anything. Credence turned scarlet. What if Mr.Graves saw anything? No one ever saw Credence like this, not even his adoptive mother. She always said that a man should take care of himself without a woman's help, but at least he always got his privacy.
