*******"Did you at least have breakfast?" Hunk asked worriedly.
"Ummm," Lance mumbled something as he munched on his pizza.
"What was that?" Keith asked raising an eyebrow.
"No..." Lance muttered. Looking down at his pizza, he felt ashamed, he couldn't even look up to his friends' eyes.
Hunk let out a strangled notice, "But- but breakfast is the most important meal of the day-"
"Actually it's not, it was a myth created b-." Pidge quickly interrupted. He adjusted his glasses as he looked at his friends as he took a small breath wondering if he should say what he was about to say...
"But. That doesn't mean you can't eat. Skipping breakfast doesn't make you skinnier." At that Lance frowned, "Eat 1,800 calories to stay alive. Eat more than that to stay healthy." Pidge sighed.
"Point is: You need to eat. I don't care if it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but you have to eat enough. And if-" Pidge now looked a bit hesitant, was he being too harsh? And what he was about to say next, was he allowed to? "If you don't have food, just come over. Seriously Lance. You know where our apartment is- you can come at any time."
Lance looked like a deer in headlights. He cleared his throat. "Um, yeah. Thanks guys. I just-"
Then, the bell rang, and suddenly, like when someone pokes and ant pile, all the kids started swarming out the cafeteria, reigning over the hallways again.
Pidge looked around, then back at Lance. The table was silent.
"Uh, gotta go guys, my next class is all the way across the school." Keith grunted as he shifted his heavy backpack onto his shoulders.
He saluted the guys, gave a small smile to Lance, and went off his own way. Lance waved his hand bye to Keith...'s back.
Hunk then looked at Lance seriously. "We're not done mister." And left towards his class.
Lance slumped forwards and dropped his head onto the table. Kids were still leaving the cafeteria, and Lance didn't feel like being a part of that stampede.
Pidge touched his arm softly before leaving to go to his Spanish class.
Lance looked up briefly just to watch Pidge's fluffy hair disappear in the crowd of kids.
Finally alone, well as alone as it gets in high school, Lance lets out a long sigh, which is drowned out by the chatter of the kids around him.
He then mindlessly dug his fingernails into his palm. He didn't want this. Why did they have to look at him like that? What are they thinking about him? He wasn't stupid. Right? He was so annoying. He didn't want them to feel sorry for him, he didn't mean for them to feel sorry for him.
He had a reason for the shit he's doing, right? He's not being stupid.
His mom always said he was always doing shit he didn't need to do but- but was this- he wasn't like this on purpose, was he?He didn't want to be like this- he didn't want to be this- this parasite. He was a disaster.
Oh god, he just wanted to end.
**************
School ended and Pidge came to the car screeching.
