I'm still here! Doing my wee bit editing!

I got changed into a pencil skirt and a blouse as I tied my hair back from my face in a loose bun. After I'd put on my make up, I headed downstairs to see my mother before I left for work. She was sat in her chair, staring blankly into space. The morning nurse was pottering around, fixing pillows as my mother's face started to turn. I nearly jumped out of my skin when she snapped. I wasn't sure what was the worst part of her illness - the forgetfulness or the sudden change of temper...

"Just sit down will you?! Sit down!" Her voice was shrill as she screamed at the nurse, hands balled. I moved over to her after I pulled on my shoes.

"Mama, there's no need to shout." I stroked her hair, her eyes were wild but when they landed on me, they softened substantially. "Come on now, calm down."

"Don't leave me with her baby. Don't leave me. Don't go." Her hands held mine in a vice-like grip, the tips of my fingers were turning white.

"It's okay Mama, come on - let go. I'll be back before you know it. I'm just nipping out, I'll be right back, okay?" Her grip loosened a little as tears fell down her face.

"You promise?" Her eyes were still watching the nurse who was going about her business like normal, her gaze and demeanour childlike.

"I promise Mama. Just keep watching the birds and when the birds fly away, that's when I'll be back, okay?" She nodded, her eyes wandering back outside. I walked away from my mother after kissing her forehead as I started speaking to the nurse. "There's some colouring books under the coffee table. She might need them today."

The coffee shop was quiet when I arrived that morning. Usually there was a queue, but not today. I made my way over to the counter. Hoseok appeared from underneath the counter, smiling at me broadly.

"We have to stop meeting like this

"We have to stop meeting like this." He leaned over the counter. "People will talk." I shook my head, laughing.

"I may have to start using a different coffee shop." I smirked before tutting as Hoseok held his heart in mock horror. "I'll have the same as yesterday please."

"Sure thing." He started preparing it. "Can I take your name to write on the cup?" He smiled at me innocently.

"Just in case you get me muddled up with all of these other people, yeah?" I looked around the empty cafe, smirking. "I'll humour you. It's Y/N." He smiled in satisfaction, scribbling something down on the cup. Another customer came in as he was finishing up my order.

"Until tomorrow." He smiled, handing me the cup.

"Thanks Hoseok. Catch you later." I smiled, heading out of the coffee shop and straight across to the office. I couldn't get comfortable. I placed my coat on the door as I sat drinking my coffee to calm my nerves. I tried to steady my breathing, anticipating Yoongi's arrival.
