"Is she already asleep?" Sinbad asked as he laid around in Kouen's room.
"Who are you talking about?" Kouen asked.
Sinbad sat up and rested his face on his hand. "Of course I'm talking about Lucy. Who else would I be talking about?"
"I'd prefer it if you referred to her formally," Kouen said, closing his scroll. "She is my consort."
"Don't want to," Sinbad smiled in reply.
Kouen glared at him. "What are you doing in my room in the first place? Shouldn't you be in your own room with your generals guarding you?"
"I'm capable enough to guard myself," Sinbad said. "Besides, being cooped up in a room all by myself is boring."
"Then walk in the garden or something," Kouen muttered.
"It's too cold outside for that," Sinbad said.
Kouen sighed. "Do whatever you want. If anything happens, don't blame me."
"Still as cold as always," Sinbad pouted at him.
"Got a problem?" Kouen replied, a tick mark growing on his forehead.
"No, not at all," Sinbad said as he began to stand up. "It's my long awaited vacation so I should be enjoying it."
"What do you mean by vacation?" Kouen unrolled a scroll, clearly not amused. "You should've chosen another place as your destination. In fact, there's a place called hell. Maybe you should visit there for your next vacation."
Sinbad laughed nervously as he picked up his purple golden-patterned cloak and threw it around himself, tying it at the neck.
"Where are you going?" Kouen asked sternly.
"Don't you want me out of your room? Then I'll gladly leave and pay that consort of yours a visit," Sinbad smiled smugly. "She must be lonely after all."
"You-!" Kouen slammed his hands on the table as he got up.
But, Sinbad had already left the room. Kouen wanted to go after him but looking at the heaps of scrolls he still had, he sat back down. With this amount, he decided that he would finish it in twenty minutes. It would be enough time to catch up to Sinbad and stop whatever he planned to do.
In the palace~
Sinbad shivered as he held his arms close. "I guess it's also freezing here."
He walked past the garden and over the bridge but stopped. He had wanted to go to where Lucy was residing but he had no idea where she was; the imperial palace was just way too big. He looked about and saw a few maids, carrying lamps, passing the bridge and greeted him. He smiled and walked up tot hem.
"Hey there, cute ladies," Sinbad smiled refreshingly. "Do you happen to know where Lucy is?"
"Do you happen to mean Kouhi-sama?" the maid asked.
"Yeah, the consort," he replied. "Do you know where she is?"
"Kouhi-sama resides in the Lily Hall. You can go find her there," the other maid answered. "If you cross that bridge over there, turn the corner, and walk further down, there will be a building with several soldiers, maids, and servants guarding it."
"Thank you, beautiful maidens," Sinbad winked at them, sending their hearts aflutter.
Sinbad followed their directions and knew that he had arrived. As expected of the building that the only consort in the Kou Empire lives in. It was heavily guarded and patrolled, giving intruders no possible way in. Sinbad smiled and walked up with no hesitation.
