Darla's POV

First day back to school. First day as a junior. This year is gonna be good. I have one of my little brothers coming into the high school. My best friend is coming back from London. I have no drama, no boys.

I get up and got dressed. I put on a gray sweater, black skirt, and black thigh high boots.

I ran into the bathroom because i needed to be the first one in there. I curled my hair, did my makeup, then ran out of the bathroom into the kitchen. My mom and dad were already down there because for some strange reason they wake up at 5:30 in the morning.

"Morning baby. You look beautiful," my mom said.

"Thanks mom. I'm gonna grab some food on the way to school. Love you guys."

"Bye Dar. Have a great day," my dad yelled as i ran out the door.

I started to walk into town.  I noticed a boy that looked about my age maybe older. He had a very sharp jaw line. Chocolate brown hair. Couldn't see his eyes from here but could tell they are beautiful. Very tall. He was wearing a camo blouse with ripped black skinny jeans.

I got to a cross walk. I pressed the button to cross. The light turned red. I ran across without looking who was coming or any cars.  At the middle of the cross walk I see a car coming towards me. I didn't move i just closed my eyes. I felt someone move me out of the way then fall on top of me.

I open my eyes and see the boy.  He was smiling at me. So i smiled back.

"Oh my god. You just saved me. Thank you so much."

"I couldn't just let a beautiful girl get hit by a car."

Did he just call me beautiful.

He hopped up and then held out his hand. I took it and he helped me up. When i was up our faces were inches apart.

"Thank you again..."

"Shawn. And you are..."

"Darla."

"What a pretty name for a pretty girl."

I blushed and looked at the ground.

"I should get to the deli now. Ive got school in 30 minutes."

"Same. Im heading to the deli too then school."

"Then we can walk together."

"Sure."

We started to walk. He kept looking over at me. And i just blush the whole time. I finally looked up at him and he had the biggest smile on his face.

"Can i have your number?" He ask.

"Yeah.. yeah definitely."

He sighs then laughed.

"What?" I said laughing.

"I thought you were going to say no."

"Shut up. Why the hell would I say no to the hottest guy I've ever meet."

He laughs even more and blushes. I took out my phone and handed it to him. He handed me his. I put my name in as The Girl I Saved and handed it back. He hands me my phone. I look at the contact name. "Hottest guy I've meet." I laugh and look up at him.

"We should probably head to school we are already late," Shawn said. 

"Yeah. We cant get food. We are 5 minutes late. Thanks to you." I laughed.

"WHAT."

I ran away before he could say anything else. But he caught up fast.

"You think you can run away from me?" He said.

"Well i tried," i said then laughed.

"Yeah not very hard."

"Oh shut up."

We got to school and ran into the halls. I looked at Shawn in a questioning way.

"Don't know where your class is?"

"Yeah..."

"What do you have?"

"Science."

"Me too. With who?"

"Mr. Parker."

"Me too!"

"Lets go then."

We walked to class. The class was quit boring. As were all of my other classes. After the last period i walked home. When i got there, i throw my bag on the couch and sat next to it. My mom walked in.

"Hey honey how was the first day?"

"Okay i guess."

"Good. I have something to tell you."

"Yeah whats up?"

"So your father has to leave to go to Florida. And I am going with him."

"Okay? I feel like your not finished."

"I'm not."

"Oh great."

"Well I hired a babysitter for the time we are going to be gone."

"MOM SERIOUSLY. Am i not responsible enough to watch my 14 and 5 year old brother."

"I trust you with Josh but not Camden."

"Come on mom."

"No i already hired him."

"Him? Oh great its a 60 year old man."

"Sorry honey. We are leaving tomorrow morning so he'll be here in the morning so the boys get out."

"Ugghh."

I stormed out of the living room and went into my room. I grabbed my phone and texted Shawn.

To Hottest guy I've meet: I hate my family.

Withing minutes he texted me back.

From Hottest guy I've meet: whats wrong cutie.

To Hottest guy I've meet: well my parents are going away for god knows how long. And she hired a babysitter for them to watch me and my 2 brother.

From Hottest guy I've meet: damn that sucks. I have to babysit 3 brats this weekend. I just found out.

From Hottest guy I've meet: yeah.  I'll be a little late because of the babysitting job but ill see you. Try not to get run over tomorrow.  I wont be there to save you

From Hottest guy I've meet: night Dar.

When he said Dar I wanted to fall out of my bed. Only my parents and close friends call me that. He probably said it so cute.

I got up and got ready for bed and checked my phone one last time before turning it off. I put it down and fell asleep.
