"Ok we have a substitute dummer until Chris gets back in his feet." The pastor said as he walked into the room. Questions started forming and spilling out.
"We don't have another drummer." Tyler spoke up from his stance at the keyboard.
"Actually Tyler he is new to this church. So it would be nice if you welcomed him with open arms." He explained.
"He's not using Chris' drum sticks." Tyler stated, he seemed to be the only one with a problem. You see, Tyler doesn't like new people. He had been at the church since he was little and he never had to deal with a new person.
"I-I have m-my own." I small voice came from behind the pastor. "Sorry I'm late."
"I hope you know the songs" Tyler glared, Josh nodded and sat behind their drum set. Testing it out a little.
For the next few weeks Tyler couldn't keep his eyes off of Josh, and he didn't like that. About the 4th week in the pastor came in and called Josh out. Tyler took this time to talk to the rest of the praise team.
"What do you guys think of him?" Tyler asked.
"Josh?" Nick asked.
"Yea, Josh." Tyler nodded.
"He seems chill." Mark shrugged, stumming his guitar.
"There isn't anything you don't like?" He asked again.
"Why don't you like him?" Nick asked.
"I'm actually very find of him." Tyler mumbled.
"What was that?" Mark asked.
"N-nothing. Listen don't think he's taking Chris' spot." Tyler stated.
The pastor and Josh came back in, "Josh is going to permanently be our drummer."
"You were saying Joseph?" Nick smirked.

"H-Hey Tyler? Can I, uh, talk to you?" Josh asked. Tyler sighed and looked up at him, since he was squatting.
"Yes Josh?" He asked.
"Why d-don't you like me? Did I-I do something?" He asked, voice going back to a whisper. Tyler suddenly got a wave of guilt that ran throughout his body. Tyler sighed and stood up.
"No, I'm sorry. I just don't trust people easily. And I don't know why I'm telling you." Tyler's voice went to a whisper. "But I've had a really hard time, and I'm broken, and I'm sorry if I hurt you. But you're just going to have to deal with it."
"Can we go get coffee?" Josh asked, Tyler sighed but agreed anyway.
***
"Oh I have a song that maybe we can sight read? I'll take the vocals for the first round." Josh spoke up, Tyler and Josh have gotten closer after coffee.
"Sure jijushwa, let's see what you got." Tyler spoke into his microphone. They set up a microphone by Josh and looked over the music.
"Ready? One, two, one two ready and"
(A/N start the song and read the lyrics. This is not me putting religion on you, I just really think the lyrics mean more then just the religion. Listen for yourself.)
When you see broken beyond repair
I see healing beyond belief
When you see too far gone
I see one step away from homeHow many times can one heart break?
It was never supposed to be this way
Look in the mirror, but you find someone you never thought you'd beOh, but I can still recognize
The one I love in your tear stained eyes
I know you might not see him now, so lift your eyes to meWhen you see broken beyond repair
I see healing beyond belief
When you see too far gone
I see one step away from homeWhen you see nothing but damaged goods
I see something good in the making
I'm not finished yet
When you see wounded, I see mendedYou see your worst mistake
But I see the price I paid
And there's nothing you could ever do, to lose what grace has wonSo hold on, it's not the end
No, this is where love's work begins
I'm making all things new
And I will make a miracle of youWhen you see broken beyond repair
I see healing beyond belief
When you see too far gone
I see one step away from homeWhen you see nothing but damaged goods
I see something good in the making
I'm not finished yet
When you see wounded, I see mendedI see my child, my beloved
The new creation you're becoming
You see the scars from when you fell
But I see the stories they will tellYou see worthless, I see priceless
You see pain, but I see a purpose
You see unworthy, undeserving
But I see you through eyes of mercyWhen you see broken beyond repair
I see healing beyond belief
You're not too far gone
You're one step away from homeWhen you see nothing but damaged goods
I see something good in the making
I'm not finished yet, no
When you see wounded, I see mendedOoh, I see mended
Woah, oh I see mended
I'm not finished yet
When you see wounded, I see mendedThe song finished, Josh and Tyler looked at each other. Tyler was almost in tears because he knew who Josh was singing it to.
Josh smiled at Tyler, and for the first time in a while, Tyler smiled back and he felt loved...
