"Was your day as terrible as mine?" Was the first sentence that came out of Colton's mouth on the way home.
"Probably not. What happened to you?" Pretending to be interested in what Colton was saying is easier than breathing.
"He had the nerve to call me weak, Andy," Colton groaned when we were walking home. "Weak!"
I rolled my eyes, sighing. "How very terrible of him."
"Are you seriously being a smart ass right now?" He nudged me playfully. "I've had a hard day."
"Really? All that running at lunch? Oh, don't forget the gossiping in the locker rooms. Touch any penis yet?" I teased him, digging my elbow into his ribs lightly.
"You're evil." Colton glared at me.
"Purely."
As Colton went on complaining about the soccer team, I could not stop thinking about my encounter with James Davidson at lunch. Was he new? I'd never seen or heard of him before. But he seemed too confident around everyone to be new to the school.
And to think, I just rejected him, the hottest guy I'd met my whole life, when he asked me to have lunch with him.
It could have been a date!
Now there goes a possibilty of a friend because I'm a socially awkward nerd.
Then Colton said something that caught my attention.
"Hey, I saw you with that James guy." His eyebrows were raised and his tongue was a inch out of his mouth, meaning all his attention was now on me and not his bad day. "What'd he want?"
I shrugged, "Just to go out for lunch with me."
"Just to go out for lunch? With him?" His voice got higher, brows furrowing.
"Nope," Colton relaxed. "With prince Harry."
"I'm serious, Andrea. His trouble." When Colton used my real name, I knew he wasn't joking about James being a bad guy. But he didn't seem bad... "I heard he got arrested last year. Killed his uncle."
"Whatever," I snapped, hating that his spreading shit he doesn't know about. "Tell me more about your day."
"Okay, but just stay away from James." He warned and I rolled my eyes. Yes boss.
Why does Colton care so much about me hanging out with James? Maybe it is because is trouble but I'm not so sure. Yeah, James looks like a bad guy but surely he didn't kill somebody. Maybe the arrest was because of a fake ID?
"- And she came running to Greg, screeching something about pregnancy."
My head snappef up to Colton, tuning into the last sentence of his story, "Wait, who's pregnant?"

'Put you on repeat,
play you everywhere I go,
every, everywhere I go.'
I bobbed my head to the music blaring in my ears as I walked through the door of my house. Thankfully, my father is on a business trip, most likely with a gorgeous woman whose ten years younger than him and wants to do nothing regarding business.
Unless we're talking sexual intercourse sort of business.
'Yeah! Gonna put this song on replay!'
"I can listen to it all day!" I yelled, smiling to myself. Attracting a boy, house to myself. Could this day get any better?
Sliding into the kitchen, I got out a bag of chips and started eating them, letting the viniga flavor absorb into my tongue.
Once I was done with my food, I walked down the hall way and into my bed room, ignoring the pictures of Rick that I could see on the wall in my perivial vesion.
Oh god I miss him.
And mum.
Slipping on some comfortable clothes and removing the foundation that was covering my bruises, I slowly made my was back to the longue room to clean up the smashed glass that nobody had still not picked up. Dad never cleaned up the shit in this house, It was always me, mopping up the leaks. Vacuuming the dirt, sweeping the broken bottles.
It was like Cinderella, minus the fairy godmother and the prince.
