I'm australian and we don't actually have prom, its just called graduation dance. And we don't have all those fancy things, like the spring dance or whatever you do.So don't hate me if I do something that doesn't happen at Prom.
(: thank you. Ruby. X

I'm glad I only have to go to senior prom once.
After all the make-up, the curling of the hair, and going from one accessory to another, I was already exhausted and the night hasn't even begun.
"Okay, now all you need to do is slip onto your dress when its time," Miriam, Colton's mother, said. Next to her also stood Janis, her other child.
"You look great, Andy." Janis smiled. "I would pull you in for a hug, but your make-up would probably go on my shirt, little shorty."
Miriam put her hands on my shoulders, "honey, your make-up and hair looks stunning. Tonight is your night."
"Thank you," I said. While the two were leaving the spare room, I looked at the clock. Its already 5:30 and the dance starts at seven.
To kill time, I decided I'd go talk to Colton.
When I entered his room, it was unattended.
He must be in the bathroom.
I wandered around, looking at photos, books and trophies.
Next to me, his phone buzzed. I looked at his bedroom door to make sure nobody was there. It was clear, so I leaned over and read the message he'd received.
Samantha
Thanks for last night xo
P.S are you still picking me up at six?My eyes widened slightly. One, because he never gives girls his number. And two, Samantha?
I had told Colton about her after we met, because he'd asked me all about her.
But maybe it's a different Samantha...
"Hey, Andy. What's up?"
I spun around quickly and looked at Colton with an innocent smile plastered on my face. "Hi."
Slowly, I inched away from his phone. He walked into the room, looking at me sidewards.
I sat down on the bed and sighed. Feels good to sit down. Colton dropped my weird act and dawdled into his closet.
"Now you can finally come out of the closet, Col." I said, grinning at my own joke.
He let out a sarcastic laugh. "Very funny."
After a while of silence, Colton finally walked out of the closet in a black tux. A red tie, that matched a flower in his pocket, was hanging around his neck.
"Can you do up my tie, please?" He asked, looking at himself in the mirror. I walked around the front of him and helped put his tie on.
I moved out of the way so he could see himself again in the mirror. He smiled in satisfactory, "we look great, huh?"
"You really do, Col." I said honestly. I turned my attention onto Samantha. "Anyway... Do you happen to have Sam's number?"
He glanced at me, "uh, why would I?" Something seemed to cross his mind. "Did I get a message while you were in here?"
"Uh, I don't know." I tried to think of something else to say. Are you still picking me up at six? "So, you didn't tell me who your date is."
