"Life's only getting greater
Straight up from nothing we go
Higher than the highest skyscraper."

"Ah-choo!"
I groaned loudly in exasperation as I tossed a used tissue paper into the wastepaper basket. I had been lying in bed for almost the entire day, save for the two times when I had to go get something to eat and when I had to go to the toilet to do you-know-what.
Guess who's fucking sick? Yes, little ol' me. Shouldn't have ran in the midst of a fucking rainy weather without warmer clothes. And now, I had to fend for my sick, sorry self.
But it's worth the closure I had yesterday. I smiled at the thought of it. I had never felt so relieved in my entire existence. Suddenly, my phone rang, indicating a call. My hand trembled as I picked it up. It was Deirdre.
[ Deirdre | Elisa ]
"Hey, Eli," the voice from the other end of the line spoke.
"Hello, Deirdre. What do you need?" I said in a rather nasal tone before I sneezed again.
"Are you sick?" Deirdre asked.
"How can you guess?" I asked, wiping my nose with a tissue paper.
"Eh, you ran through the rain yesterday. Have you eaten?" Deirdre questioned.
I tossed the tissue paper into the dustbin. "I have, but not much. Why did you call anyway?"
"I'm just checking up on you. Anyway, hang on. I'll be there in a quarter hour," Deirdre replied before hanging up on me.
No doubt, Deirdre's coming over. Again. And my room's a mess.
"Ah-choo!"

"Geez, Elisa. You sure do make so much rubbish," Deirdre teased.
"Shut up. I'm too lazy to clean it up," I wailed.
Deirdre rolled her eyes as she sat beside me and placed a hand on my forehead. I shivered at the touch, but I fought the warmth that was spreading through me. I need to stop being in love with this girl really.
"Ack. It's burning, Eli. What the fuck," she hissed.
"This is what I get for running in the rain anyway. The best and coolest run I had in my entire lifetime," I replied.
Deirdre's gaze at me softened. "You know, you could've just waited for the right time."
I shrugged in response. "I guess I was too to be your best friend again." I smiled at her.
Deirdre looked at me with her eyebrows raised up. "What made you do it?"
What made me do it? More like who made me do it.
"My best friends made me," I said as a smile crept on my face, "Ivan and Sarah."
"What, they pushed you to do it?" Deirdre questioned.
