Ever Ever After *DISCONTINUED*

Chapter 8

"Where am I?" Ben asked as he opened his eyes.

"We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you," Audrey said.

"Would that be so bad?" Chad asked and laughed.

"You're.. You're not Chad and Audrey," Ben said.

"Oh, look who's so smart. But, sadly, you are right," Audrey said. "The real Audrey and Chad, if you want to call them that, are at another one of our locations. Somewhere you'll never live to see."

"Why are you doing this?" Ben asked. He felt the rope cutting into his skin on his wrists. 

"Why? You guys took everything from me. EVERYTHING!" Audrey yelled. Just then the three heard a noise and turned their heads to the door.

"Ah, if it isn't Beasty Boy," Uma said walking in the room.

"Uma..." Ben gritted his teeth.

"Relax. I'm here to rescue you," she said. The evil Audrey and Chad attacked her and she ended up knocking them out. "Hold still," Uma said as she made her way over to Ben and bent down to his level.

"Why should I trust you?" Ben said as Uma started cutting the ropes off his hands.

"Because, I'm your only shot at living right now," she finished and stood back up. 

"What about Audrey and Chad. We have to find them," Ben said.

"Didn't they just try and kill you?"

"Not that Audrey and Chad, the other Audrey and Chad," Ben said.

"There are two Audrey and Chad's?" Uma asked.

"Yes. I mean, I'm guessing."

"Are you sure you didn't just make them mad, and now they want to kill you?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

"Fine. We can find them. It might slow us down though."

"Where are we going?"

"I don't know yet. But somewhere they," she gestured to the people who just attacked her. "Can't find us."

"The others will be looking for me."

"I know. And we're going to find them. As soon as we get out of here."

"How do you suppose we do that?"

"Duh, make an exit. Just like I made an entrance," Uma said and kicked through the wall. "Wow, I did not think that would work. That is not a well constructed wall. I mean, I didn't even kick that hard."

"Why are you rescuing me Uma?"

"Well, if anyone was going to kill you, it was going to be me," Uma said and made the hole in the wall bigger.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd think that there was some good in you," Ben said smirking.

"Nope, rotten to the core here. Now, jump," Uma said.

"What?" 

"Jump," Uma said and jumped out the window.

"Uma!" Ben jumped after her. It was about 30 feet down, and Ben braced himself for impact. Instead, he landed on something soft. "What is this?"

"A float, duh. You didn't think I'd be prepared?"

"I thought you said you didn't think that kicking the wall would work."

"I didn't. I was hoping it would."

"And if it didn't?"

"Well, then we'd be in trouble."

"Where are we? And who were they?"

"We're in Auradon I'm guessing."

"I've never seen this side of Auradon."

"Neither have I. But I know we're not on the Isle."

"How do you know?"

"Because that's the Isle," Uma said pointing to the Island straight across from them.

"Good point," Ben said standing up. "Who were they?"

"I don't know. If I had to guess, I'd say shapeshifters."

"What are they doing in Auradon?" 

"Obviously getting revenge on you."

"Why?"

"I don't know Ben."

"How did you get off the Isle?"

"I followed them through when they broke the barrier."

"How'd they break the barrier?"

"Do you always ask this many questions?"

"Only when my life depends on it."

"Look, I don't know how they broke the barrier, who they are, or why they are here. All I know, is that they're after you, and now me. So if we don't get out of here, than we're both dead."

"Why are you helping me."

"Okay, maybe I'm not all bad. Now come on," Uma said and started running.

"Wait for me!" Ben said and ran after her.
