"What?" I asked, in confusion when everyone gasped, as I started walking closer to the weapon tables.
"It's a very fierce creature. Trained to battle all royalty after they are crowned." the priest informed me, watching my every move.
"What are the rules to the weapon?" I asked, casually, a plan forming in my head.
"There are no rules." the priest answered.
"So I can just hold my hand up and use the weapon that appears in my hand?" I asked, a smile playing on my lips.
"Yeah, sure." the priest shrugged.
"I'll do that then." I smiled, and walked away from the weapons table, following Matthew to the arena.
"Not many can beat the Batsamic vine tiger. It is fierce and quick on it's feet. I hope you know what you are doing, Queen Shyla." Matty informed me, as I walked onto the arena.
"I know what I am doing. Don't worry. You won't have to look for a new ruler." I smiled at Matthew, who just shook his head sadly and closed the gate to the arena.
"Release the Batsamic vine tiger!" an announcer shouted over the roar of people, who were clearly looking forward to a fight. I jumped in the air and held my hand up for a weapon, not at all surprised when the tiger attacked and got blasted with the shield exploding from the Mycantina, when it made contact with my hand.
"She blocked the leap of the tiger with the legendary Mycantina. That is a smart weapon. As long as she has it in her hand she will be unstoppable. The Mycantina can see what goes on and knows what it needs to do to keep the holder safe. There is only one in existence, and folks, our queen is able to wield it."
"Bad kitty." I purred, twirling the Mycantina in my hands.
"I wonder what she is going to do. She has to seriously injure the tiger or kill it before she wins." the announcer announced.
"Don't worry kitty, I won't kill you. Injure you seriously if I must, but I refuse to kill an animal." I meowed, tossing the Mycantina in the air and making it disappear before shedding my skin to become a Batsamic lioness, and I outweighed and surpassed the small tiger in size.
"Whoa! Did you see that? She just became a Batsamic lioness. Those beasts are the only thing that can even overpower a Batsamic vine tiger without much effort." the announcer gasped in shock, as I lifted a huge paw and took a swipe at the tiger, hitting his face.
"Queen Shyla, I underestimated you." Matty shouted through the gates and I sat on my haunches and preened my fur, thwacking my tail against the ground.
"What is our queen doing now?" the announcer asked aloud.
I laid down on the ground and rolled in the dirt, begging the tiger to play, giving into feline instincts. I meowed, and purred, rolling onto my back and put my paws in the air.
"Aw, she wants to play. How adorable. I believe this is the same thing her ten times great grandmother did and I believe that she lost because she was already elderly but she wanted to play. I hope she doesn't turn out like her grandma, that would be sad." The announcer sighed into his microphone while the tiger gave in and played with me.
We played for a few minutes before the tiger was worn out and I tried getting him to play again, accidentally hurting him. "I guess that means that our queen is victorious." the announcer said dully while I shifted back and hugged the tiger, scratching behind it's ears.
"Queen Shyla, you can get killed by doing that!" Matty shouted at me behind the gates, but all the tiger did was lick my hand and scoot closer to me, and he laid his head down on my leg.
"Aw, you are such a sweetheart. Wanna be my pet tiger? I always wanted one. We can play whenever you want and when you get tired I will let you rest, and you can be my side all the time. Besides, on Earth, every human princess has an animal sidekick, you could be mine, Branki." I smiled, kissing his head, while he purred.
"Why is he not hurting you?" Matty asked approaching, sending Branki back to an angry tiger.
"Step back please, or take the uniform off, Branki hates the uniform, right sweetie?" I cooed to the tiger, who licked my face, making me laugh.
"So are you keeping it?" Matty shouted, from the gates, having moved backwards.
"Yes, I am keeping Branki. He is adorable and he will be my best friend." I smiled, hugging Branki around his neck, slipping into his mind to see how he felt about it all, and was surprised when I was suddenly hugging an alien guy. "What did you do with Branki?" I growled, getting ready to shift.
"I am Branki. I figured I would try and become human again since you figured out how to keep me from killing you. Nice trick by the way with the whole making it appear that you switched form. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you shifted your form without the use of your magic, which is very impressive by the way."
"Branki?" Miss Elfeya asked, stepping closer to the alien guy.
"Miss Elfeya, is that you?" Branki asked, taking a closer look at Miss Elfeya.
"I wondered what happened to you. You never came to tutoring. When you went missing, I looked everywhere for you, until I had to leave Batsam to look after Queen Shyla when she was a little girl. Her and her parents were sent to Earth to keep her safe from the rebels. You were wrong. She didn't use magic to shift her form. The throne chose her and her animal chose her in her sleep. She woke up craving meat and shedding like crazy. You are sleeping on the floor, young lady." Miss Elfeya glared at me, and I just shrugged, climbing the wall to get to the roof, hearing the sound of swords clanging together.
"There's a battle going on. I must fight." I growled, leaping off the roof away from the arena landing on soft feet, teleporting a sword to my hand that was glowing pink and rushed to where the battle was going on. The scene that waited for me was something I can never forget.
